On each userpage, there is an area that numbers how many merits you have earned. Merits are earned by writing constuctive, original, and thoughtful comments in the Games section. We reward those who take the time to think out a good comment, as it contributes a lot to the website and sets a good example for others. The post does not have to be a book in length, but should be interesting enough to grab our attention. For each merit you recieve, you will earn 25 AP and your post will stand out. Only moderators and administrators give out merits. You can help us choose who gets the merits by hitting the "up-vote" arrow next to comments on the game pages.

The 'up-vote' feature is no longer included. Was it removed due to abuse? And Favoring?

Don't remember why they took it out (probably optimization or something like that), but it's not like the upvote actually did much anyway because if a mod was going to hand out merits, they're going to read everything anyway.

Also, there are other features that aren't active at the moment if you happen to go poking around the older parts of the forums.

It was taken out the same time as all the other features, so probably yes, it was taken out during the hardcore optimizing.

Mmh, but it does sometimes help if you don't have much time that day, and you have to give out a few merits. But then again, it's good that mods read all the comments because some good posts aren't (Or weren't I should say) up-voted, even though they were merit worthy.

Also, there are other features that aren't active at the moment if you happen to go poking around the older parts of the forums.

Or you can look at this short list:
Trash can on Profile page
Up-vote
Recently Active (At bottom of Community main page)
Comments with armatars next to user name

And probably some others I forgot about.

I do not have one, and since it keep coming back and disappearing and not working instantly and stuff like that, I think it is quite right to say it is not working atm.

Despite the size of texts, bolding the review will help the mod find it when they scroll like hell trying to find any good ones. I'm still waiting for some of mine lol. Maybe I'll go try again with the same games.

No one has to give out merits. If a mod doesn't have that much time in the day, they aren't going to check at all.

bold = merit

Also, it's not that hard finding good ones. Reading them is how one finds out they're full of BS.

Well, they still have to read that one and any of the other comments to see if they are worth anything, and just because something has been upvoted, it does not have to be meritworthy, after all.

yes, and back then, the more reviews voted up, the larger the text was.

I say you should not really believe the help page too much, it is a year since it is last updated, so it suggests it is out of date.

What I suggest is to look around this forum and newcomer's forum to get your answers, as these would usually be up to date every few months unlike the help page...
