No fancy formatting or links here, plain and simple. What is it that you think that every flash game should have? It's clear to see the differences between a rushed, and poorly made flash game and a well thought out one. So let the developers know, what do you think a flash game should have?

I think that flash games should have an option to mute sound, no offense, but some music played on a loop is very annoying. I think flash games should be focused on the game play, not the sound that would be expected in more advanced games.

Things I WANT or things I think SHOULD be in a Flash Game...? :/

I'll go for the last one first...
- Interesting, binding gameplay
(a storyline or something that keeps grabbing your attention)
- Good 'on-topic' music and sounds
(if you don't like it it will get annoying and then your mute button is bliss!)
- Medium graphics are sufficient
(high graphics should be left for the console games...)
- easy controls
(not those where you have to be either a pianoplayer or a gymnast to get it done!)

Personal favorites would be:
- my favorite game sorts, meaning lots of zombies, shooting and action!
- a solid storyline, not a book to read in between, but a "know where you're going..."
- easy controls (see the same line mentioned above)
- good music! With zombie games...? Metal does the trick for me!

First and foremost: PLAYABILITY! Showing off your graphics and music in a game that can't be played properly is no good.

A SAVE game feature if the game is too long to complete in one session.

A PAUZE button. People need to go to the bathroom every once in a while!

As for the mute button: I just mute all sounds from my computer if there is none, so I think most people can circumvene this (except if they need to hear messages from other applications such as Outlook).

You guys have NO idea how useful this topic is going to be for Flash Game Developers do you? Thankyou NinjaMouse!

Personally i like a nice story with one or two twists towards the end of the storyline.

Also Co-Op ( to be included in my game ) never hurt anybody.

What game should have? This:
1. Interesting and well thought gameplay
2. Good soundtrack
3. Nice graphics
4. Comfortable controls
5. Highscores =) (some games don't have them)
6. Possibility to choose different difficulty levels.
7. Possibility to pause the game when needed.

Maybe I will add something more in the future...

i think the most important point is:
good gameplay, graphic, engine and music/sound

Depends what kinda game you wanna make. In general there should be these:
Good storyline
Comfortable and configurable controls
Okay graphics
Music that is good
A retry button (most games there is one, but some do not for no reason and some, for a good reason)
Pause button
Gameplay that makes sense and is addicting (this is the most important one)
That's pretty much it. If it's a simple click and click game, like colony or monster's den, you don't need configurable controls.

Just a couple of things: good controls, as always, bad controls are the grave of a videogame.
Difficulty settings: because the game could be too hard, or too easy for you.
And decent (average) graphics. The music should be fitting to the game too.

Well as a Former hardcore gamer (but now a Casual gamer due to job and other reasons) my top 10 wishlist in a FLASH game is

10.Nice but not repetetive music

9. Fully Playable buy Mouse or just a few keys

8. Being balanced

7. relativly Bug free

6. Simple yet good graphics that doesnt use up too Much CPU power (when im on armorgames i usually have alot programms running and some games slow the system down pretty good)

5. Quick gameplay, a level should not take longer then 10 minutes

4. Have a Pause button. Its just amazing how much games DOESNT.

3. Not overly complicated but challenging. (mini tower defense as a GOOD example)

2. creativity

1. Nuke`s (yeah i love em)

Multiplayer.
That, and I'm happy.

If it's a puzzle game, it's obligated by me to have a level editor. If it doesn't, I'll just keep bugging the game programmer until it does, and sometimes, the programmer will implement one into the next addition to the game!

You'd rather have a level editor than multiplayer?

Well, yes, I would. Generally, most puzzle games don't work well with a multiplayer feature, but they almost always work nicely with a level editor. Oddly, PR2 has both, but it's not a puzzle game, which makes it even more unusual.

I would like:

Flash game - RPG
in past, something epic, like diablo, where you kill monsters collect items and do quests all around map, something like monsters den but not a card game, where you have an character and where battles are real time
