If it's scandinavian, then it is considered world music, to be fair, so you do like something not produced in America/Canada/England. Good for you!

Also, not all world music is slow. Some New Age-ish stuff like enya is, but other stuff is real fast, too.

Akon is West African, but he sings popular music (aka pop) in America, so I don't think he counts. But he does have a good singing voice...

There is a lot of Japanese music, which kind do you listen to? They have their own version of rock and popular music, all of which is pretty unique, I think...

I would just like to point out that there is, despite topics for several individual rock/pop bands, a thread dedicated to whether or not Pop or Rock is better.... -_- All I have to say is,

expand your musical horizons!
