But it's solved now! =) It took some time, but... it's finally decided! =) We have a winner in the Final Battle of the Metal Bands World Cup 2011/2012 Edition!!! But first, let's officially round up the score and close it. Final score shows : _________________________________ ### MBWC FINAL BATTLE ### 11 - Iron Maiden - WINNER! 7 - Pantera - Runner up... _________________________________ --- And this is the outcome of the Final Battle for this edition! A real *BIG THANX* to everyone who participated and voted in this edition! Remember... the competition is nothing without your valuable input! ;) All official things mentioned and said... now it's time to start preparing and building the next edition for this M.B.W.C. Competition! *So, if you want to participate in the creation of the lineup for the next edition, simply post your suggestions here and I will take them into consideration!* Spam post consisting of a single band mentioned will of course be deleted as the forum rules always apply! Just a head's up... ;) Better start frying your brain over which particular metal band you really REALLY want to see as a contestant in the next Metal Bands World Cup edition!! =D

Posted May 12, '12 at 3:55am MrDayCee 5,144 posts Moderator	Even though I think you're idea sounds nice, it's actually already implemented into the MBWC competition you know... the group stages provide a small battle within each sub-genre of Metal! Even though it wasn't that clear in this edition, it will be clearer and more thought out in the next edition, I promise! =) So, any suggestions for bands you'd like to see participate in the new edition? =)

Posted May 12, '12 at 5:28am HahiHa 4,239 posts	Well here are a few suggestions..^^ Power Metal: - Sonata Arctica - Stratovarius - Blind Guardian - Helloween - Gamma Ray - Nightwish - Hammerfall Symphonic Metal: - Epica - Rhapsody of Fire Folk Metal: - Turisas - Alestorm - Eluveitie - Amon Amarth - Finntroll - Ensiferum Heavy Metal: - Dio - Godsmack Progressive Metal: - Opeth - Mastodon Death Metal: - Arch Enemy The genres I used here are of course approximated, one may or may not agree with the classification but it serves its purpose.

Posted May 12, '12 at 2:13pm ihsahn 317 posts	Progressive: Symphony X Dream Theater Nevermore Pain of Salvation Tool Meshuggah Neurosis Death metal: Death Nile Morbid Angel In Flames (back in the day) Gojira Necrophagist Thrash/Groove: Testament Machine Head (with traces of Metalcore) Fear Factory (though you could call them Industrial) Overkill System of a Down (maybe you'd call them alternative) Power metal: Angra (best power metal band out there afaik) Helloween Blind Guardian Folk metal: Agalloch Skyclad Black metal: Immortal Emperor one may or may not agree with the classification **** right! Amon Amarth is clearly Melodeath, Alestorm aren't even folkier than some bands you listed as Power metal, Arch Enemy is Melodeath but they've got much more Thrash than pure Death metal. Nightwish fits Symphonic far better than Power metal, too.

I will be trying to mix the popular bands with the new/less popular/unknown ones a bit as I will alwyas be trying to attract as much voters as possible. And that has prooven itself pretty difficult at times... ;)

Melodeath: Amon Amarth, Children of Bodom Metalcore: Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying Death Metal: Behemoth Deathcore ( I actually hate the genre save this one band) Suicide Silence

Posted May 26, '12 at 5:28pm Palasferas 3 posts	I wonder who would vote for Amaranthe... Dance-metal. Also Draconian(Doom metal) isn't well known. Could be interesting. And just stop putting Iron maiden and stuff in the same list as all the unknown bands, no wonder they win. In my opinion it makes 'the battle' a bit boring. Everyone knows those bands have a lot of fans.

Atreyu August Burns Red Texas in July We Came as Romans Motionless in White Some of them are more post-hardcore and poppish, but I don't give a hoot really. Decide for yourself Daycee. Unclassified Samael Diablo Swing Orchestra Imperial Vengeance Bleeding Through And of course, all the other legends, Venom, Judas Priest, Led Zeppelin, Poison etc.
