Is it Starcraft? It has aliens, robots, and humans involved in the game. But it would be REALLY helpful to us if you could be able to provide more information about this game. What console is it for? What's the story of the game? Anything more than what you've given us would be helpful here :-/
yeah, even if it wasn't starcraft, i would go with that. that game rules. other then that I would just try to throw some key words into the search bar and keep looking
Maybe Warhammer 40K (2004). It has aliens and robots. Or maybe Tiberian Sun(1999). But seriously, any closer description would help. Aliens and robots cover a large specter or games.

Ok, back on subject, what system/console was it for? It sounds allot like warhammer. If you can remember anything close to the year use it as a keyword in google... Ok, try typing in the following on a search engine: The console name, the year, robots and aliens, strategy game. That's all I could recommend at this point.
