Welcome, Veterans and newcomers! This is the reconstruction of The Zombie Survival Club.
First off, I'll introduce you to some of our staff.
-SkaterKidWhoPwns- This is the guy who is my 2nd in command. If you cannot get to me, go to him and he'll answer questions/comments/concerns.
...We have no other staff? Well then.
READ THE RULES. IF YOU DO NOT IT'S LIKELY YOU'RE NOT GETTING IN.
1. Do not ask "Can I join?" or any other variation of that comment. (instructions on how to join will come soon)
2. Do not make a "Scenario" (will be explained later) unless you are a member.
3. Don't be stupid, use logic and think as if you were in the actual situation. OF course it's unlikely that it will happen, but we ask that all visitors and members be serious and literate.
4. Do not question mod or my/skater's authority (unless a mod directly opposes it)
5. No overly smart-*ss comments against other members, visitors, or your superiors.
6. Do not make a Virus until you are a member. The sheet for making a virus will be given to you upon asking me or skater.
7. DO NOT. ABSOLUTELY NOT, ASK "CAN I JOIN?". I cannot stress this enough.
Now that all the rules are over with, I'll go over some Jargons (slang terms relating to "work" that we use here.
Scenario - This is a term we use for a situation that is meant to test the user (as well as give you something to do). These are non-linear, and are generally Hypotheticals. Any MEMBER can make a scenario. Scenarios are generally matched with a previous story/situation and they give the supplies you have on hand. As well as the supplies near you. There's also generally a map that goes with it.
Virus, Parasite, Infection - These are the general types of a zombie virus. If there is not a previous virus that is mentioned before a virus or a plan, it is automatically changed to the current dominant virus (Goliath). Goliath will be explained later in the OP.
Zed - Is the common nickname for Zombie. I.E. "Yo dude I just shot up some Zeds!" Or: "Gah! That d**n ZED bit me!"
Well that's it for the terminology! Here's the dominant virus. It's gone through plenty of tweaking, and I think it's pretty much the most realistic virus in the club (aside from hungers). If no other virus is specified before a Scenario or a plan, this is the virus to be used.
Name - Goliath Syndrome
Type - Parasite
Speed - Leisurely walking speed (2-4 MPH)
Sounds - A mild groan, much like a man/woman in pain. No screaming comes from the virus.
Infection - Infection comes from the cells. If so much as a skin cell gets into you, you'll be quickly infected (aprox. 10-160 minutes, depending on strength and immune system of the user). It contracts a lot like AIDS, but it can be ANY cell, be it secretion or meat.
Hunting - It hunts by smell and hearing. It can't see that well, but strong light in the dark will attract it. Best time to attack one is in the daytime. They can't see in detail but they can see blurry instances of light, I.E., a fire or a flashlight.
Other - Cannot swim. Cannot fly, cannot run, cannot climb.
Believability Factor - Goliath was made in a lab (Codename: Anthemia, which is a prototype of the virus. Can also be used for begginers). It hyper-evolved and infected a rat. THe rat got out and began to infect humans (as well as certain birds, causing the infection to be worldwide). What the parasite does is: It enters the body as an infected cell. From there, it infects all the other cells, coating them in a secretion that fends off any form of decomposer (In short, it makes the immune system of the host really powerful). Then, it randomly selects a cell in the body (it is generally a cell in the torso). It grows to about the size of a human heart. IT then crawls it's way into the brain. IT preforms a lobotomy and hooks into the brain, feeding it with a steady flow of required nutrients and oxygen. It shuts down all other systems besides the lungs and flushes out the blood in the body (the parasite provides the necessities for living brain), and spreads long, muscular tentacles across the zombie's body, becoming a puppeteer. The parasite feeds by slowly eating the host. IT'll take a couple of decades in order for the parasite to starve/suffocate.
Best ways to kill it - A shot to the head, killing either the parasite or the brain. A punctured lung will also kill it, but it'd take a couple of minutes for it to actually die.
How to become a member
First off, you need to make a plan. You have everything you would at home. IT would happen the moment you are typing up the answer. So if it happens at night, then it happened at night, happened at day, it happened at day. For the sake of not-cheating, we'll use AG time.
Then, you have to answer a Scenario. The Scenarios come every couple of pages.
Wait for Both the Plan and the Scenario to be graded. Each member has their own form of grading. Once it's been passed around me and Skater will figure out whether or not to let you in.
If you are not initially let in, do not be disheartened! You have unlimited tries to enter, and all members (should) give you tips to get a better plan.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why the hell am I doing this?
Reasons vary. Some people in the club do think the Zompocolypse would actually happen, and some people (like myself) do it for fun and practice for writing. Others do it because they just like killing and surviving zombies, while keeping it pretty realistic.
Can I make a Virus?
Sure, if you give me a comment on my page I'll be happy to give you the layout for the virus.
Can I Join?
Scroll up and read the OP. Do it.
Can I make a Scenario?
If you are a member, sure. Just make sure it's somewhat realistic. There are no real parameters for it, it just has to be a situation. Try and make it hard, too.
I think that's pretty much it! There are a couple of tiddly bits for you guys, though:
Titles/Ranks - A title or a "rank" will be given to you if you do something outstandingly awesome, stupid, weird, or just plain out there while still keeping it realistic. For a list of the ranks/titles, visit my page.
Members - A list of the members can be found on either my, or skater's page.
Discussion - Discussions will be held every now and again, as a stand-in for a Scenario. There will be a topic in BOLD (BOLD, MEMBERS) to let you know what the Discussion is about.

i have a question. To become member, do i make a plan out of a scenario of a other member? Or do i just do a plan like that?
Ok. First and formost. If I see any more "can I joins LULULU I IS FUNNYZ!" I will get Cen in here to ban you for spamming, and border line trolling. Is that clear?
THE DIFFFRENCE BETWEEN PLANS AND SCENARIOS
PLANS!
A plan is to be made form your house, using only items you have available to you. You should include where you will go, what you will take, how will you get there, what will you do there, how will you et food, water, how will you find shelter, what defenses will you have....ect.
A few pointers, DO NOT COUNT ON SURVIVORS!!!! If your plan includes survivors it will be thrown out immediatly. The reason for this is, if you can make a decent plan of survival counting only on your self, imagine how much easier it will be with another survivor? Next, DO NOT COUNT ON CARS! Now alot of you are wondering, well why not? Thats how I can get around quick and easy! Well Picture this. You hear zombies are taking voer, and theere is an evac not far from you. You go jump in your car, as everyone else in your area is doing. Your driving along when you come to a stop sign. "O I'm not stoppping, hell, zombies are after me!" You drive through, BAM! Yo ucrash, now the intersection is blocked....
See what I'm saying? Roads would quickly be blocked, and you would be trapped.
Nextly, No guns, unless you have one, know where to get one, and can fire one. Do not count on guns stores! these will be lotted, and people freaking out that have guns will shoot anything that moves. Not something you want to be near.
After you make a plan, a member normally Me, Possiblelnstability, thoad, or someone else wil lrate your plan. This means disecting everything that is wrong wtih it. We are not being mean, we are simply helping you. IF you score a 7/10, or higher, Your plan passes
REMBER!!!!! This is to be a plan, NOT a story!
SCENARIOS!
Some oen will give you a "scenario" as the name implies.
An example of one being "Your trapped in a house with a can of gasoline, a tv, a lamp, and 10 zombies. You have no lighter, or weapons on you. How will you survive."
Of course they will be much more detailed, and such, but it was an example. You owuld then give an answer as to what you would do. " I will pour gas all over the tv, turn the tv on, and then smash the screen with the lamp, making sparks, and igniting the gasoline"
Again, just an example.
Do not be afraid to answer a scenario in story fromat, as long as it is all in one post, we don't want any "to be continueds".

Anyways, Scenario time :P
Alrighty, its been about a year after the initial breakout. You've somehow managed to survive this entire time, but now the odds are against you even more than they orignialy were ;P.
You know to stay away from cities, but your supplies are dangerously low and your right outside of Atlanta (georgia capital) which is a hiiigghllly populated area. You have food, but your water is running low and there is a park with a natural spring in the city where you can refill.
you have about a days worth of water left, and about 3 days worth of food. You have a Chinese Sks. about 50 rounds for it, a .22 Pistol, Ruger. model. 3 with hollow points, and about 17 rounds for it. and a crow bar. some rope. and a back pack with miscallaneous in it, including, water botles, and MRE's.
Your mission, either try to move into the city and get some water and food. or try to continue on and find another source, though you water supply is really low.
If you choose to go into the city, The park is near the edge of it, but there are countless goliaths around, you cant see any from here, but their sure to be waiting. Possibly some survivors if their lucky, but they may be hostile, trying to protect 'their' water supply.
You must specify, how you would approach the city, how long you would stay, the things you would scavenge for, what would you do if you encounterd hostle or friendly survivors. and last but not least, once you get the water, 12 goliaths attack from seemingly nowhere.
if you moved on, its simple, explain how you would conserve your water supply and would find more water, and why you would take that risk.

so recently found a R700 for 650, quite a disgustingly nasty steal.
This hunting rifle is in effect a M40A3 without the hyper mod trigger.
coupled with a 9x34 scope, youve got a cheap sniper rifle that is quite deadly against zombies it chambers about 5 rounds and it is bolt action, aka less bad things happen to the gun
I believe it fires a .308 lapia round which is plentiful in hunting stores. If any of your parents own guns you should ask them about the remington 700 probably invest in one too... for hunting of course........
Go for a 30-30. :P i have a 30-30 lever acton scoper. its a niiiccceeee gun, accurate and powerful.
To Bjiscuit's scenario I'd approach under cover of night to avoid some lunatic with a sniper rifle guarding "their" water supply. I would keep the SKS in hand and the Ruger .22 in my pack, I've used that model pistol before and my opinion is negative to say the least. I'd probably stick away from the park and go into the more urban city limits, that's just a personal choice and stick to the shadows. I'm in no rush so I'd move as silently as possible and as slowly as possible among the buildings looking for bottled water, food and ammunition. Most likely I'd find the majority of food and water in a gas station. If attacked by goliaths, I'm assuming standard issue infected and that I'm alone I'd try to keep as much distance in between me and them as possible, using things such as shelves to keep them back while I pick them off. With the goliaths eliminated I'd get out of the city limits and away from town as quickly as possible, making sure to be back out in open country by sunrise as a year after an outbreak I'd be more worried about lunatic cults than zombies.
On the gun discussion, Mosin Nagant M44 Carbine all the way. 7.62x54R, five shot bolt action with a bayonet as long as your leg from the knee down and built to be used and maintained by illiterate peasants. I do own an AR-15 but ammunition for that model of firearm would run out quickly and in my experience they jam, a lot. They do alright with good care though you can't exactly field strip a rifle when you're being overrun by zombies. Bowie knife on the belt and into the hills for me.
For the scenario, I personally, would have to enter in daylight. Of course, if there are goliaths around the park, and survivors in the park, there would have to be mager defenses around the park, and signs of people should be quite easy to spot. If I found none, ppistol in left hand, crowbar in right. I would try and use the pistol as a last resort (such as a zombie sneeks up behind me, or more then one get close to me) Then fill the water bottles, by putting rocks in the bottom to sink them (so they fill with water without me holding them) and use the same system of defense. From there, run to the rural areas beond the suburbs. Reason for this is, there will be stores there (though possibly looted, still good to check) And hoems, which will most likely be empty, set on farms.

I would advise against this. Simplie beacuse your not going to be able to see zombies, and at night they are much more capable of seeing light, and if there is one surivor chances are there is two. And if there are two survivors, chances are there gonna take turns keeping wacth.

Alright, I think I may have a plan that will work and I will finally become a Mem (Yayyy)
Alright here it go's...
It's currently night where I am, so I'd take a Mag Lite. Next Go to my Dad's truck, take the rope and Chainsaw *ONLY USE DURNING AN EMEGENCY* and tie it to my back. Then go to my kichen and grab some food in my backpack, losen the straps so it may fit around the chainsaw, back to my Dad's truck and take a Hard Rake, for people who don't know what that is lets just say it'd be pretty badazz for smashing Zeds face's in. Then go to my neighbors house and take his Golf Cart, and I do have a set of his keys, and check his house for food, and I do believe he has a couple of shotguns (and yes, I can handle the kick of a 12 gauge) find some more rope and put the shotty in the Golf Cart along with the rest of the stuff. Next head head to the pier, its not even a quartar mile away, and hi-jack a boat. After I get the boat, scan the shores for other surviors, if I see one, I'll tell em to get a bunch a food and gather up some other people, and guns if they can. Once they've done all that bring em on the boat, and live Zombie Armagedden as a Pirite.

Don't forget a chainsaw is a tool, not a weapon. I agree, use it in an extreme emergency, but remember that you can use it to get firewood in a safe area, to cut down doors, to clear debre etc.

I assume a "Hard" rake is just a very sturdy gardening rake? If not send us a pic, cause the way you said that confused me.
and hi-jack a boat
Explain how you "Hi-jack" a boat. Do you know how to drive it? Do you have any keys? Can you hot wire a boat (Is that possible?)? And then, what of fuel? You didn't bring any, if it's empty you have a worthless boat. After it's empty, you got one again. Unless you get one with a sail, fuel is a huge factor, remember that.
After I get the boat, scan the shores for other surviors, if I see one, I'll tell em to get a bunch a food and gather up some other people, and guns if they can
Sorry to say this, because it sounds cruel, but people are bad. Every person you see is either 1. Freaked out and running away, 2. Looting, 3. Infected, 4. A pirate like you, or 5. Cooperative.
You have 4/5 chances that they're either not gonna help you, or they're gonna be the death of you. By all means if someone cries to you for help, tell them to strip from afar to check for bites, then confiscate weapons. Do that and you have a crew, once you find some people like that (Very rare.)
I dunno if anyone else read this yet, but honestly I didn't like it that much.
Chance you'd live through the night: Low due to your risk taking
Chance you'd live through the week: High, since once you get the night over with you have food and weapons, and a boat for shelter.
Chance you'd live through the month: Medium/low, Because you might run out of food
Chance you'd live through the year: Very low
I give it a 4/10, I suggest taking EVERYTHING into account. "What if there was a rusty nail on the floor" even, but you don't neccisarily have to put the answer. Just think through every possible outcome of every good or bad thing that can or can't happen. That way you're at least prepared. Nice try, though, the boat idea was better than most "IMMA GO TO WALMART AND HOLE UP THAR WITH DA FEWD." plans.
@Skater, excellant answer, i reveiwed it a few times to check for flaws, there's a couple if-y parts but owell, nothings perfect. id give it an A+
