If you look at it, supposedly nothing would happen, but then since he's not lying it won't grow, but that means he is since it didn't. So it's a paradox. O.O

Paradox, is all I can say. If he says that, then he is lying because it isn't, but then it would grow so he isn't lying.

If I ask you to have sex will you give me the same answer as the answer to this question?

Can't be answered. Maybe he would become a boy for causing a paradox. If he's a boy his nose is not affected by lies anymore so everything's normal. Takes more than a Pinocchio to cause a black hole I guess.

Well, lying is a matter of you being aware that you are lying. There is a difference between being wrong about a statement and lying.
Saying that the nose is going to grow would only be a lie if he intended it to be a lie.

Also, if he said "my nose will grow now," that would be a lie (given cen's stipulation). It's a lie because at the 'now' moment it did not grow. It would grow after the lie was told.

So it's a paradox.

Paradox, is all I can say.

for causing a paradox.

Ok, we get it now. It's a paradox. Or, at least, that's what you think.

I have two theories.

1. If I said I was going to write a book, am I telling a lie? It might be 10 years, but the book will be written. If I die before I can write the book, then does it becomes a lie?

So, in one way, the only way Pinocchio can be lying is through hind-site. Unless his nose can predict the future (which it can't), there's no way the nose can react to such statement.

Let us say Pinocchio told everyone he was going to go the store. On the way to the store, he gets distracted and goes off on his own adventure. At the time, Pinocchio was being honest because he honestly thought he was going to go to the store. So does it make his previous statement a lie, or was Pinocchio simply incorrect?

Let's suppose that Pinocchio said he was going to go to the store, but had no intent to actually go, then it could be a lie. However, if his nose began to grow, then he decided to go to the store, what he said no longer remains a lie.

So in this theory, Pinocchio's nose can only grow to lies pertaining to statements relating to present or past time, not future time.

That is one theory. However, there's another theory as well.

2.Pinocchio's nose may grow any time Pinocchio tries to lie. In this case, if Pinocchio said he was going to go to the store, but he didn't intend on going, his nose would grow, no matter if he decided to go to the store later on or not.

Let's suppose Pinocchio says "My nose is going to grow." It will grow if Pinocchio honestly believes his nose won't grow. If Pinocchio honestly thinks his nose will grow, he was attempting to tell the truth, making Pinocchio incorrect, rather than a liar. If Pinocchio becomes aware of such Paradox, then the nose may depend on what Pinocchio thinks will happen at a sub-conscious level. This basically means Pinocchio can say "My nose will grow", while being aware of the "orthodox", and the nose will either grow or not grow as if the event becomes completely random (but really it's working off what Pinocchio thinks at a sub conscious level).

Even if Pinocchio realizes the statement is working off what he believes would happen at a sub conscious, he would still be unable to control his nose after making such a statement.

That is what I believe.

Actually, you still suck, beacuse it just shows that three mods wasted there time in a row on a gaming website. God nemo, no one likes you!!!! Why don't you just go curl up into a ball and cry your self to sleep? / love for nemo

Anyways with that little funny out of the way, as nemo said it will depend on what he was thinking subconciously. Unless of course he had some severely bad acid, and wasn't thinking at all, rather just talking.

Question should be, what would happen or how long would our nose be if we had this condition?
Also how long did it take for it to grow back to normal?
