This is a bit of a forum game, but at the same time it has the capacity to result in a bit of poetry, so it goes here. I'm going to supply a line of poetry, and the following poster is to create a poem using the line I gave as their first. Along with their poem, they supply a line for the next person to write poetry on. No restrictions on the type of line or poetry; just keep the line open ended.

Here's the first line:

A mountain pokes out awkward in the mist

Woe is the reason,
For the change of the season,
To burn into the soul,
To turn happy to droll.

Woe is the reason,
That fills us with treason,
To crush our minds,
To make us blind.

Epidemic of chaotic laughter,
I spun around to take a look.
It only justified my thoughts:
Only white guys like Dane Cook.

A tongue of flame fanned by the wind

A tongue of flame fanned by the wind,
Wax from the candle melts slowly and thins.
Butterfly flutters too close.
Soft crumpled wings and the smoke of a ghost.

A sheet of ice cracked by the cold,
A parchment of mystery, centuries old.
Droplets of water appear,
A voice from the Ancients, a single shed tear.

A breath of air whispered at night.
A bat in the throes of its ultimate flight.
Wings poised in ghostly grace.
The shock of the light painted clear on its face.

The terror beneath the waves.

The terror beneath the waves,
Stirs in the night.
Bringing fear to the sailors,
And their boats a big fright.

Tearing and crashing,
It breaks through the tide.
It has no sympathy,
There is no where to hide.

It's tentacles like steel,
Seeping acid-like goo,
If you're attacked by a merwhale,
There's nothing you can do...

The man in the snow
many don't know
sleeping snugly
under the blankets
his personality is ugly
bitter,barren and insensitive
yet he still lives

he may watch you
throw a snowball
or get slush in your shoe
take a backwards fall
and just in enjoy his masterpiece
that is winter

Sorry if I screwed up your flow.

The day the trees came alive,
Axes rang out and humans cried.
The day that life came to the logs,
They urinated on the dogs.

Cobwebs in a lonely corner
left alone
no one noticed
diserted

not even a spider
moved these
webs
left alone

Love is free,
Yet it traps us all.
We are ensnared by its vines,
Until down we fall.

It controls our life,
Like a remote controlled toy.
It can lift us or drop us,
Be loud or act coy.

We can try to control it,
But instead we just lose,
To love or to hate,
You are the one to choose.

In the darkest forest,
Up the highest tree,
Sat a beautiful bird,
And the bird was me!

It isn't because you are beautiful
It isn't because you are kind
It isn't because I am neither
(Though I think that I am, in my mind)
But it is because you have money
And that is just what I need
