Whenever somebody makes a post on AG 2, everyone knows who posted it. This may make people avoid making posts, because they think people would think they were dumb or something if everyone knew who posted it. The administrators and Mods could see who posted it so people wouldn't troll like there was no tomorrow and could contact that user like they normally would.

Ok but how will the users themselves know who is trolling or spamming? If we have anonymous posts, then maybe there is no point of having accounts. Plus I don't think many people would think that they are dumb if they post something, maybe if it is too dumb, but well, it doesn't matter since its in the rules not to use inappropriate language.

I have to agree with mrtim. I see a number of problems and no real benefit from anonymous posting. However, Cormyn needs to make the call.

I also see a huge problem with the WEPR debates. How can I make a counter point to a ghost?

People actually think about that before they post stuff on the internet? xD
Anyway about the anonymous posting, why even have an account then..?

That would be guest posting, this could simply be that while you need an account, no one knows who you are. Something akin to a "hide me" state I would say.

I have to agree with wajor. I am no expert in debates, but shouldn't you know who you are debating with? who is in your team and who is in your opposition?
Also, say if certain threads require you to post in club members only, or only allow you to post once - how would we know this?

Sorry for not being clear enough, but I just meant for the person who created the thread, not those who replied.

Huh? You could easily go against the rules to post with an alt.
Just saying.
Allowing posting anonymity goes against the most good message boards. I don't get the point of posting if no one will see your post. Avoiding embarrassment is up to you.

I don't get why it should be anonymous if your username holds nothing to your real life.

I think it's pretty evident this would not be implemented. Not to mention most "regs" are against it.
