After seeing jdogg's animation thread, I decided to download Pivot and give it a try.
I'm new at this, but it turned out better than I had expected. If anyone wants to try to make a better one about anything, go ahead, and feel free to post the results here.
I don't remember where I downloaded Pivot, but you should be able to find it through Google. It's a simple and FREE program.
i dint use pivot for a long time, i use flash cs4
but heres one it took me some 3 minutes.
oh and i know its stupid:

and iMogwai, you animate great.
Thanks latpasko. And try to upload it somewhere before you link to it, that should work.
Anyways, here's another fight, I call it "iMogwai - OMG". It might seem silly now, but it'll make slightly more sense if you watch it.
Holy crap how did you make all of these?! I tried to do one but it just failed on epic proportions.... I will probably give it another try but I envy your natural talent. >,<

If you, like me, are a bit lazy, and don't feel like making 120 frames for 10 seconds of animation, make a loop, then you can have fewer frames, but infinite fun!
This is my longest one so far. It's about how two clumsy adventurers overcome an obstacle in their path! This one was quite annoying to make, but now that it's done, I'd say it's worth it. I hope someone else out there agrees.
Yeah maybe later. Thanksgiving break or something.
Again, Good job. I like the first dude hitting his head lol
LOLOLOLOLOL Okay I'm extreamly tickled over here. If my computer wasn't such BLEEP i'd try this out. Although I am gonna have a go at this sometime...
Hey everyone. I couldn't sleep, so I went to YouTube instead. Sleep is overrated... Anyways, I came across this music video. It's the song Doorsteps, by Lodger, and many of their music videos are about stickfigures. Their songs are good too. Anyways, thought I could post the link here. Might give people some inspiration or something.
Here it is, and just to make clear, I had nothing to do with this, I'm just posting it anyway.
Just made a quick test. I'm planning to make a longer animation (sometime in the future), and I was thinking about having a dog in it, but not as the main character. So, I was wondering if it would work to have the legs moveable, so it would look like it was actually running/jumping/barking, rather than just bouncing around like a chihuahua on speed. However, since the dog I was thinking about was going to be rather small, it was very hard to target the part you wanted to target, so a chihuahua on speed it is, assuming I ever get around to making it.
I am still envying your natural ability for this. A few pointers I will make...
- If you are using Pivot 3 Beta (which is what I would suggest) put the frame rate up to 20, as it makes for a smoother animation. Although it does mean that you need more frames per second, but it is definitely worth it.
- When you are making fighting animations, make sure you don't forget the other guy. For example, if a stickman throws one guy, don't forget him as the other guy is flying accross the screen. This is what makes the animations most effective - more than one thing happening at once. Even if it is just slight movements to maybe imply breathing, or a character scratching his head...
- If it isn't completely riddiculous - LOOP! Even for like your crossing of the spikes one, a loop here would have been nicer than your logo. (for the animation) So simply, if you plan on characters leaving the stage at the end, start with it empty, and have them walk on. This way it is easy, otherwise you have to somehow get them back on.
Just for the lolz...that's one I made a while ago.

Yea it is 20 FPS...I think...
Another thing...if you get to the point where you get sick of it...STOP. Don't keep going as you are likely to ruin a good animation...
Okay, tried a 20 FPS animation, that loops! I thought to myself, "What would be the best way to see how fluently something moves? By doing the robot, of course!", so this stickman is doing the robot. At least I call it the robot, I don't know a lot about the dance, or any dance, so I could be way off.
Anyways, I call the first move "Search the area". The second move "Patrol the area". The third move is called "Evacuate the area", and should not be used indoors or in crowded areas.
Now I'm gonna go cook some noodles in a really dirty pot. If I don't come back, I've been food poisoned.
