A nonet has nine lines. The first line has nine syllables, the second line eight syllables, the third line
seven syllables, etc... until line nine that finishes withone syllable. Rhyming is optional.

Here are the rules:
1)Your poems must be original. (No plagarizing)!
2)Your poem must be made specially for this thread. (No taking your old work!)
3)Your poem must fit the weeks theme.
4)Your poem must be submitted by the deadline.
5)You may only submit one poem.
6)Sorry you can't win two weeks in a row. (but you can still submit!)

If this thread gets popular, then maybe the winner could get a merit.
The deadline will usually be on friday, which in tis case is April 6th

This weeks winner, will have the opportunity to be a judge. If they do not want to, then I will ask second place, and ect.

Start posting your poetry!

Rock music blasting throughout my ears,
Listening to it every single day,
It's becoming an obsession,
Can not live without it,
Music is a must,
Dancing to it
Head banging,
Wanting
Music.

Tacky just pointed out I screwed up the syllable count.. I can't count syllables to save my life.
Just don't count mine.. at all.

If you don't mind me saying, putting off judging for too long is a sure sign that this thread will go downhill fast. It also gets people's backs up.

Strategic, if you need someone else to judge, I'd be happy to do it. Also, I agree with Jezz's statement, postponing judging will severely impact the popularity of the contest.

I'm guessing Tuesday - Friday of this week. And that's really really late. I don't think this thread will live if the judging is always going to be so late.

Ok sorry the judging was put off a little late, I apologize.
Anyway....

Third place goes to... waluigi!

The constant want for that evil thing
its kept me in its grip for long
still, I want to break away.
But it keeps me chained
holds me back
captive
me

Great poem, you really grasped the theme.

Second place goes to.... wolf1991!

Where in this maze of lies do you hide?
I cannot see your face as I did
Once long ago. Before this
Terrible yearning took
Hold of who I am.
Tears stream down now.
I am the
Lord of
Pain.

Great poem. You really got down to the meaning and you did it beautifully.

And first place goes to... jezz!

[i]I'm so afraid that this is only
The beginning of something huge.
The first time it felt so good
The other times it hurt.
Whispering to me
The voice of pain;
Addiction
Is her
Name.[i]
It just flowed off my tongue when I was reading it, and the rhyme at the end was excellent!

[b]If first place and second place want to assist me in judging, (three judges) then please post so.
The next judging will go like this..
1)Each judge will choose their favorite three poems.
2) First place gets 3 points, second place gets 2 points, and third gets 1 point.
3)The points will add up and the superior top three will be crowned.
Kapeesh?

Congrats jezz, wolf and waluigi once again.
The judging was difficult, all of the entries were fabulous.

I am really failing lately, so please ignore the failed italics and the failed bolding.

I'm going to request you give more thorough feed back on what you liked or didn't like about the poems. Your three comments to the top three poems are all very similar, makes me feel as if any of them could have been 1st, 2nd, 3rd and you just picked an order.

I'm just giving some adivce. People enjoy feedback. It helps them improve.

The first line just popped into my head when I saw the word joy. Freaky.

Your smiling face is my only bliss.
Your heart is my secret treasure.
A grin from you lights my world.
As long as I'm with you,
Nothing can hurt me.
And I will smile,
I will laugh.
You're my
joy.

My Love

My divine love, you're my only fault.
Your smile brings warmth to my fair soul,
Your laughter lights up my eyes.
I am in love with you,
Don't ever leave me.
For if you left,
My eyes would
Lose their
Joy.
