Hello world!
Several months ago I had an art thread here, but now its inactive. Anyway, since my old thread is, frankly, dead I decided to create a new topic.

So, here are a couple of new drawings:

Obviously, you have the right to remain silent (i.e. not comment), however I'd love to hear your opinion on what I've posted (both negative and positive thoughts).

You forgot this one. :P

These are all very, very nice. I've seen a statue that reminds me of the middle one. Its two horses fighting, and it looks pretty much like yours. Good job with the horses. Its clear that they're moving, and they don't have that fake, static look to them.

My only complaint is with the Parthenon. It looks fine at first, but if you notice that on the right, the landscape suddenly stops at the pillars. Should there be shading inbetween the pillars to show the inner structure, or should the land keep going? I dunno, as I haven't seen the inside of the Parthenon.

Overall, they're very nice. Will you be showing some of your families' art as well?

Some of the lines aren't drawn that accurate, though, but it's obvious you know where to put them, you just need to place them correctly, most obviously on the last one with the pillars.

I understand what you are saying, you are totally right. I will try to place them -more- correctly. Thanks.
Overall, good job and I hope to see more of your work.

Thank you very much.

That one was a gift, you are the only one who is allowed to post it.

There should be shading. Mea culpa. Oops, it seems I forgot to shade it.
Will you be showing some of your families' art as well?

Sure thing. I will post something soon.

Glad to see your stuff again goumas, I've always enjoyed your stuff. I can't really critique you to much because you've got your own style that you're very proficient at. So I'm just gonna say practice (cliche I know) and learn new techniques to expand on what you already do very well.

Anna Hyatt Huntington

'Fighting Stallions' is the one I was reminded of. Anna Huntington is a phenominal sculptor, and I've been to her house and Brookgreen Gardens.

That one was a gift, you are the only one who is allowed to post it.

Still, you drew it, so it should be up here. And as its 'owner', I hereby give you permission to publish it as you please.

The buildings look traced. As being hand draw it's interesting line work. You seem to have a knack with buildings. In fact tracing may be good practice to improving your skills given you have that sort of drawing style already.

With the horses I would suggest using the side of your pencil and smug the graphite to create your shadowing effects.

Thanks. I definetly need some practice, I am trying to learn to draw buildings architect-style.

Amazing statue, she really is a great sculptor. The 'Fighting Stallions' is a classic.

Aye. I always liked drawing building, I find them quite easier than persons to draw.

Nowadays, I am tracing architectural scenes. Its indeed a very good practice.

lol I don't do that. I hate getting my fingers dirty.

The dolphin is really nice. I like how the blue color doesn't extend to the entire form, just the middle. How exactly does he make those forms? You can't blow them, can you? Or may be he uses a mold?

No mold. He blows them. I don't know though how -exactly- he shapes them.

A poem I made for the poetry contest (theme mythology):

To the cosmos came strife,
The Alps were moved,
The great Ocean
Rose and thundered,
Helios trembled.

The immortal Gods gathered
On golden thrones,
Gravely ruminated,
How nemesis should be fended.

Flaming ire
Flung among the foes
In fright they vanished
Gilded

The phoenix one is really good. I like how that at the top of the bird, its just flames but as you progress down lower, it morphs into a bird. The rock/cliff/abutments are good as well. The shading does a good job of emphasizing their jaggedness. My only problem is with the object in the nest. I think its an egg, but its faceted, and one doesn't typically thing of an egg as being faceted. I don't know much mythology covering a phoenix, so their eggs could be faceted. So its a good peice, and you did a good job.

The Vulture was in your old thread, right? I remember it quite distinclty. Its a good peice. My only problem is that his right leg looks odd. I know it supposed to be bent behind him, but the way you drew it, it just looks deformed. May be you should have a bit more shading or something in there to rectify it. I'm not good at drawling, so I dunno really what the correct terminology would be. Other than that though, its a good peice as well. Good job m8.

The Vulture, to me, has a deeper meaning. It gives a human aspect to that of a vulture. As in, there are people out there who want everything. Even the rotting flesh off your bones.

It also reminds me of Icarus, how he wore wax wings.

Great work all around.

I made the egg a bit cubic, because the phoenix is a legendary creature, so it has to have somewhat uncanny eggs.

Yea, I couldn't draw it well. I erased it and remade it several times, however it always looked terrible.
Great work all around.

Thank you very much.
