Story
You are suddenly awoken by a thorough chill that pulses through your body. Half-awake, you get out of bed and begin getting dressed. You finish, but then notice something strange: the sun isn't up, yet there is an eerie light filling your room.
You explore the rest of your house and find that you are alone. No family. You step outside. Shadowy mists are flowing everywhere, and disgruntling whispers can be heard from... somewhere. A pang of fear pierces your chest when you look around and see nothing. All that is visible in any direction more than 50 feet outside of your house is a roiling blackness.

About
This is a role-playing game set in a mysterious shadowy realm.

Gameplay
Up to 7 players will be accepted. Players will engage it battles with enemies that I determine. Players will request their actions to me during a battle, and I will do appropriate calculations. Players start at level 1, and will receive experience (XP) to level up for doing damage to enemies, defeating an enemy, and winning a battle (though there may be more).
Outside of battle, I will provide some guidance, but overall the players will request what to do. There are innumerable actions players can choose. When one player suggests an action, I will either post it for players to agree with or shoot down, and if a player consensus has already been reached, I will tell what happens as a result of the players' actions. If the players wish to separate and explore separately, that is fine, they need only request it. However, the hordes of enemies players encounter will NOT be weakened for a solo player.

8.5/10, which is pretty good. Only down because of the tardiness of your post, but thats gotten better. Really like the complexity of the leveling up and all that. Skills will be a challenge though: They make or break a game. So we'll see how that goes.

READ THIS! IT EXPLAINS SKILLS!

Skills are in-battle bonuses players earn the mastery of by leveling. Skills will either be single use or constant. Single use skills will require the player to take or deal damage before each use, similar to a recharge. Single use skills are either active or passive; either an attack the user does or a bonus effect the user gets, respectively.

Constant skills are either on or off, and have small negative effects. Constant skills can only be switched from on to off or vice versa outside of battle.

Single use skills will be shown like this:

( [Skill charge] ) [Skill name]: [Skill description]. [Skill cost, if any].

The skill charge section will be a percent, or "Ready". If a single use skill is in effect (passive only), it will say "Active" before the percent.

Constant skills will be displayed like this:

Skill on/off tells whether that skill is in effect or not.

As you near the castle, an unnatural silence fills the area. Nothing moves, except the occasional shimmering of the mist around the castle. The light you create improves your seeing distance none, but helps with acuity.

You manage to arrive next to the shimmering mist wall. A feeling of annoyance seems to emanate from the mist, as if it knows you're there and doesn't like it...

[I'm on my phone's internet right now and copynpaste is difficult so I'll respond to the RPG when I can tomorrow (technically later 'today' but for now I'll respond to your Rate request. I don't usually play RPGs because they tend to get overcomplicated and cluttered. For now, this one is moderately simple, but it could easily become overdone with so many things to keep track of that it becomes more of a hastle than a game.
