Is a moderator awarded any small Armor Games bonuses, such as an Armatar that's unavailable to other users? If not, you may want to consider that. It might cut down on the immature and rambling discussions on the forums knowing that users could get something special for being good. Although, I have to admit, the colored text is clever. Just a thought.

Moderators don't get any 'perks' like you listed, just Moderator abilities, a ban hammer, and their own forum with the Administrators. Being a moderator is important enough to not warrant any special bonuses. They are volonteers, after all.

The colored text is to identify them as moderators, but it does look pretty cool.

Correct, but you never see a banhammer on AG unless an image of one is posted. The banhammer is really just a moderator's ability to temp-ban users.

Another quick question: I've noticed that the Moderators are not all very high ranked. So my question is, is there a point in ranking up once you've been promoted to Moderator? I suspect it would be impossible to gain any Merit APs, and you would spend a majority of your time defending the forums and discussion instead of rating and commenting on games. So, would you be able to continue being promoted, or is there no point in doing so once you become a Moderator, or even Admin?

Gantic has 90 merits.  I would imagine that he just can't merit himself.  The ranking system is just for those who like to know that they've contributed more than other members to the site.  I don't think that the defense of the forum wall from the spammers who siege it is as constant a fight as you'd think.  The mods can work towards being Gold Kings and Queens just like the rest of us if that's what they're trying to do.  I'm sure they all still play the games that they get curious about.

The moderators don't necessarily have to be the most active users on the site.  They are the ones that the administration and other moderators thought were active enough, mature enough, and dedicated enough to give moderator powers.

You only become an admin if you are a payed employee of AG.  Which means, you would be developing games and/or maintaining/developing the actual site.

Not really, just have to have an adequate number of things. Such as the things stated in the opening post, you gotta show your active on the site and you participate in the community.

Huh? Are you talking about the ranks? Well, it just comes from what you do in the community, currently. Moderators do still participate in the community, so they will eventually rank up like everyone else here who does stuff in the community. One of the moderators is actually a gold king, and two-three others are of king/queen rank or higher.

We still expect our Moderators to be users of the site, playing the games, leaving comments, posting in the forums. Not just being the 'police' of the web site.

That's it. Mods and admins. There might be some super secret spy jobs AG admins are hiding from us, but there's probably some password to it. I bet they have training centers though. Google it...
