In the "Evolution in Schools" thread in the Debates forum, I posted a few large images. Rather than being resized to fit the forum width, they went off the page, making it near impossible to understand what they were for.

Could we get automatic resizing of images too large to view in a forum post?

Well it would be kind of hard. When you post the link in the text box, you don't see the picture, so you can't resize it there. So it might have to be after you post it, but only you could resize it or something, but that might be pretty hard to do.

I was thinking that the forum software that loads the image could do some server-side processing to get the size of the image, and if larger than the forum width, plop height and width tags on it. There are other forums that do this, so it's technically feasible.
