Try signing out, and then signing back in. Then try.

Wait for the entire page to load, then scroll over the heart button to select your favorite.

Wait till it pops up the little note "Add to Favorites".
You have to wait for this, or it will send you back to the main page sometimes. Once it pops up, then you can click it and it should add the game to your favorites.

I think I had the same problem you did, and it also happens sometimes when you rate games.
