I think It would be a good Idea to have an activity meter to show how active you are on the sites. You may think that Ap and achievements already do thus but they really don't. I am an active member in the forums but I mainly post in the forum games section which doesn't count towards Ap, so I look like a new or in active member. If you put in the activity meter it would show that people like myself are an active part of the forum. It would work something like this, you would have a preset number of post that you most reach to get 100% on the activity meter. For every post you don't get it goes down a specified percent based on the preset number of posts needed. It could even be different per level so a higher rank member would to be need more active to raise their meter than a new member.

Just an idea I had, tell me what you think.

I think the activity meter would be cool. Just a small question: What's the purpose?

Well I think the purpose would be to show who is an active (constant) member.

The purpose is to show that you are an active person, even though you may not look like one. Although, I could care less if people think I'm new
(which I am) or Inactive.

Yeah same with me. I only go on Armor games about once a week, and I am sorta new.

How is that useful? If you're posting in sections of the forum that only certain people are looking at, the people in that section already know you're an active forum participant. The people lurking in other sections usually aren't very interested in who is active in sections to which they don't pay attention to. It isn't going to make a difference who the most active member in a certain forum is, just as long as the forum is active enough.

For every post you don't get

I don't get what you mean by this. Would this be calculated over a period of time? How would any system be able to determine which posts you "don't get" before you even get them (or don't get them)?

I think he means that there would be a post quota each day, and the activity meter would show the percentage of that quota you got on that day.

The activity of a user will be measured based on his/her &quotoints" and reputation given from AG. If they are still being planned for the release, we will also be able to see the last time a user was active on AG. The reputation will show, for better or worse, that a user is posting and can be the "meter" to show their activity. This is of course complimented by the &quotoints" they gain from achievements and such.

I see, Freakenstein. Will be an excellent feature added to the website.

There is another problem with the activity meter and that users will simply spam in order to keep their meter high, and while our mods are amazing, I don't think they would be able to withstand the tidal wave of spam that would reoccur every day.

maybe instead it could be once a week, or even month... And it would increase how often the more active you are!

I guess that would be useful since some people post a new forum and never check it again. Or, some people make accounts and never do anything with it.
