Intelligence is not Education. Just because you may know a LOT about anything, that does not mean that you're super smart. It means you know a lot about it. Intelligence is your potential for learning, how fast you learn, how much you retain, how well you connect things. Education, as in simple knowledge, is not intelligence.

It does not represent that, although it can be used to find that. I "*facepalm*"'ed because you keep claiming that you know "everything" or near to it in Biology/Mathematics and keep bragging about what sort of classes you are in, thus, when you are wrong or contradict yourself, I facepalm.

Oh, my mistake. So that's what a facepalm is? Plus I'm good at maths and biology.

Back to the subject at hand, is there a reason that we facepalm? It may not be a smack, but it seems to be some sort of reflex to cover ones eyes or avert eyes in embarassment. Perhaps it could be a learned behavior, but I do not know.

But is there a developmental reason for which we do this, or is it a learned behavior? As it relates to inter-personal connects, it's a social behavior, but I'm not sure whether we learn it by seeing it done or whether it's a submission reflex or something akin to that.

No, not true. It's easier for intelligent people to learn and they don't have to work hard at it, but people with lower IQs can still learn and be educated. It just takes a lot more work for them and they may not be able to connect what they know to other existing things as well as someone more intelligent. Education is basically just memorizing hard facts, intelligence is applying them and using critical thinking.

Even animals have it. So no, it is just instinctive. Probably developed from protection from sunlight and then developed into same for shame too...

Depends on who you talk to

Some consider it a science, and some don't. Mostly the people who don't have just the shrinks in mind who you go to for problems. I wouldn't consider them scientists, I'd consider them therapists. Then there's those who research social and behavioral effects and their causes, which involve multiple fields of science and use the scientific method.

If you mean that psychology isn't a physical science, then yeah, it isn't. But it is a social science, therefore it is still a science and therefore still under this category along with neurology, sociology, biology, maths, physics, chemistry and any others that I haven't thought of yet...

I think it's more likely a biological social function of some sort. I'm far from an expert in this though, so my musings are worth as much as a wet paper towel unless I back it up...which I do not feel like doing so.

True, and anyway psychology is about the mind whereas biology is about the body, plants, cells and basically anything to do with living organism including humans and other animals. They're completely different. And sociology is studying socialisation. I'm not sure what else it entails as I only do physical sciences...
