I see a big gap between the most immature (as in simple-minded) games on the site and the more "sophisticated" games for the more "discerning" gamers on this site. ;-)
How about suggesting an appropriate age for the players to each game?
Makes it easier for us parents to pick out proper games for our children too... :-)

I actually don't have a problem with this.....congrats on that.

They may be planning something like this for AG3 in the future, if not, it may be something nice to take in to consideration. It'd save gamers who like harder games or gorier games a lot of clicking on childish games.

I understand where you are coming from here, Jabba, but there are two things to keep in mind. First, Armorgames doesn't exactly want to copy other sites, namely Newgrounds in this case. Second off, the site is already a PG-13 site, which is why you are supposed to be at least 13 in order to make an account. I believe it is stated somewhere about the site.

Sorry for the double post, but I found it. It is the first sentence of the second paragraph of the terms and conditions.

No offence to all early-teen-agers out there, but there is a lot of games in here you really should'n be playing. I'm talking about the games which is obviously for 15 and up, or even 18 and up.

Blood is actually not the worst problem, as most teenagers can differ between real blood and game blood (as this is really difficult to make realistic through pixel games), and we can relate to blood through natural environments (such as hospitals and other health relations).

The worst enemy for young teenagers (13 through 15 - or even towards 18) is actually the psychological influence involving fear and abstract confusions ("abnormalities" if you like).

Anyway, I do think it would be healthy for both kids and parents (as we are the ones who have to do all the explaining if we do bad research before we give the green light) if there could be at least some sort of age guidance on all games together with a short review of the game.

I think that in games that involve absences like this, there should be a warning at the start of the game like in the 'Dark Cut' series. It would give you a choice of whether you really want to play the game with a risk or stay safe and lay off it. You will also have a strong excuse in case a worried parent complains about the games that the site provides. I am 13 and i don't have a problem at all with these sorts of games but i understand that other users do. An age limit shouldn't be acquired, just a warning.

Good idea.

But a visible age and a clear review might have more advantages:
- Kids can try new games without asking mum or dad ;-)
- Parents don't actually need to try the game (and look out for this warning you suggest)
- Gamers can read about the games (the reviews) and even do better and more detailed searches to find games they like.

What do you think?

I think that they are very reasonable points but if a parent sees a child that is playing a vigorous or corrosive game that could harm the user's mental strain like 'Dark Cut', the parent/guardian could contact Armor Games.

A visible age is good but some users want to play games not restricted or recommend for their age. Not all young teenagers are mentally sensitive.

PG 13 film ratings: Parents Strongly Cautioned â" Some Material May Be Inappropriate For Children Under 13. These films may contain sex references, up to four uses of explicit language, drug innuendo, strong crude/suggestive humor, mature/political themes, moderately long horror moments and/or moderate action violence.

Dark Cut and said games don't have too much ''sychological'' inducing fear, in fact, these games are rather mild. After playing nearly 800 games, I haven't chanced upon a game that would be so mind numbing that it would scar a child forever.

Thank you. That was a perfect example how most governments think about rating: "Up to four uses of explicit language..." and "moderately long horror moments..." and so forth. :-D

I think programmers themselves (and maybe their parents) are far more capable of rating the games they make. And if Armor Games do a second control of the games we will be far better of than any PG-rating. ;-)

No offence to any Americans out there (depending on governmental approved warnings on everything for legal purposes - our pool had a special warning about drowning! :-D).
