Just remember kids, if you are trying for a merit it probably won't happen. Instead attempt to be helpful and insightful. Or just be really, really funny. That works too (at least, it did for me XD)

Are "king" merits the best? And is there any way to know who gave a merit to you?

No such things as ''king'' merits. Merits are all egalitarian and stuff, each is worth 25 AP, no distinctions made.
