Any thoughts/concerns on iran. they sentenced an American to death today and we confirmed they are working on nukes at an underground location. Should we do anything to stop them? or just let them be?

No, they merely moved their facilities underground and enriched their uranium to the point that it can be weaponised, but there's no evidence that they have decided to make nukes.

true, but you have to keep a close eye do you not since they are a powerful middle-eastern country who has the potential to create nuclear weapons. i don't think the us should play world police and control what other countries do or do not do, but it seems that Iran has been more militaraly active recently this month

Their military might be large, but their budget is woefully low as compared to neighbouring nations like Saudi Arabia.

Article on why santions will increase the chances Iran develops nukes.

If the war was about destroying the country, then yes, it would be very easy for USA to do. where problem is, that they cant just attack a country. the only excuse USA will have, if they declare them terrorist or something like that. If they do so, then they also have to support/rebuild the new government. Which will cost allot of money. And since they have already 2 wars going on, then I doubt they make a third.

Is a nuclear Iran good enough for you? Or how about their lack of any basic freedoms?

Or we could just wait till the Iranian government does something really stupid.  And that shouldn't take long at the rate they are going.

Look, I'm going to play devil's advocate, and give them benefit of the doubt. there is no real country that iran considers a threat, other than israel (I know U.S. is their ally). the simple fact is that whoever starts a war in this day and age also has to politically cut themselves from the rest of the UN. most of the middle eastern countries aren't in the position to screw themselves over by going to war with the more advanced countries, or their allies.

the only pollitically safe thing for them to do with that nuclear material is to use it for a power supply, so they may improve their countries infrastructure. the only thing that could go wrong is that the U.S. government tries to impede their progress.
