I think it would be interesting to have a world where the currency was intelligence, you would buy and sell things by basicly pawning your ideas so you could get other ideas and food and stuff.
If you had a currency based on inteligence then everyone would have to contribute so there would be no freeriders.

Off topic (kinda) I had an idea for an enviroment where the whole world is powered by body parts, there is no longer cremations or burials since those organs could be harveste and used to power things, there were people called Supreme Gatherers that are in charge of determining when someone should be harvested for their organs and they became abusive with their power and kept turning back the harvesting time from right before death, to 80 and above, to 50 and above, to having everyone take a test when they're 15 to see if they will be harvested or not when they are 20, if they are smart and could contribute in other ways to society than just giving organs then they live. What do you think of it?

It reminded me of the Matrix and the human factory and stuff... But yeah. Your idea sounds like it would make quite an interesting sci-fi movie.

That would be a rather unfair world to live in. The people with a below-average intellect level would be the lower class, all the mentally disabled people would be living in the street, and the evil geniuses would buy enough power to take over the world.

Would make an interesting movie, though. Unless they cast Matt Damon in it. You couldn't pay me to see it then.

The same goes for the body part harvesting idea. I have a feeling that one would be a blockbuster if Di Caprio played the starring role. Hell, I'd even watch it if Matt Damon were in it.

How about we try to think of the most fair world ever? Is a true utopia possible?

It seems like a good metaphor to the laissez faire capitalism of the early 1900s.

survival of the fittest is technically the most fair way. although i am thinking of a sort of fair fair, as if to say, is it fair that someone who is doing fine should have to take care of someone who couldnt. and what happens when someone makes themselves retarded by their own actions? like a drug user? or kid with explosives? it kind of seems like all of my ideas hinge on the world ending in nuclear chaos, well, most of it. i'd like to think that an extremely rural area such as mine would be mostly left alone from a full nuclear assault. however i have been stockpiling guns and ammunition, as well as the means to make many melee weapons of any design, plus random things ( generator, propane, scrap steel, tons of wood, etc.) i just wish that if it happens i'll have time to get everyone that wants to come.

Hmmm, this is interesting. Are we discussing dreams or types of government.
I think I'm wise to let this thread go its own way.

Yeah, but a portal to where?

Yep,yep. I like that.

Let's try something. Ideas for a really, really weird world. Weird beyond wild!

Since I'm a gamer I was thinking of having it as an art/survival horror game, I always found that games are far more immersive than movies and I want the player to experience what it is like to be in such a despreat society that what would normally be considered a morbid and brutal thing become widespread and widley accepted. (I don't know if I added this in the main setting, but the reason why the world became like this was we where so low on resources that there was no where else to go and we saw that we were wasting precious energy by throwing away bodies)
I was thinking of having the main character be one of those people be the ones that fail the test and fight for his life, also I will have it where the player will be controlling him before he takes the test so they could interact as normal and explore life in this kind of society, and then have them experience the real power the Gatherers have because of their contributions to society.
