The glory days were back in the day when almost everything could have a speed run. But it also had its normal way to beat it. But there were glitches and thing you could use to beat games fast and if you knew what they were then everyone thought you were cool and pro at the game

if you could finish the game really fast then you won't enjoy it for very long

Replayability is the key word here. You could have the shortest game in the world, but it wouldn't matter if it's awesome enough to be replayed a thousand times.

Or you could have it difficult enough to warrant so many tries in order to complete it once. Kind of how old Arcade games worked here -- made for you to fail so you'd keep trying.

The best example I can find is the time difference between MaximusBlack's playthrough of I want to be the Guy and the Fastest Playthrough of I want to be the Guy I know.

I wouldn't recommend this though, as it makes the game feel much more monotonous. Some people may score it for retro but this is the element of Games of Old I would NOT like returning.

Because the game was hard when you beat it the first time and then you got so could you could beat it in an hour or two.

son i am dissapointed

i miss back when it was mainly just black ops and MW2.

I think it is I that is disappointed, 'son'.

I can't really say it was difficulty (even though that's what I referred to it as). You had to go through the level, know it because things would jump at you from random areas with no warning (IWTBTG shows that) and start once again once you die so . . . yeah, quite annoying and I would class it more tedious than difficult. Hence, why I don't want that specific trait to return.

Not entirely what I was talking about and they still have those traits in video games its just you reload instead of restart the game.

No I liked Donkey Kong Country and Super Mario World because the were classic games and had great colors. And the first time anyone played them you weren't used to them so they were kind of hard but you got better and you beat the game. And you didn't feel sad that you beat the game because you looked at your score and it said something like 72 and you realized that the game wasn't completely beat, that you somehow missed something and you went back and searched and found cool things.
My favorites were the complete color and Sprites change that Mario World had
and How Donkey Kong country had its hidden developer names (rare and Nintendo) very cool
