Since the popular thread from 2011 has gone to hell with outdated images, false page redirections and 4 blank pages of deleted posts, I think it's time to start anew for the 2012 community.
I'll start out by posting some strange (but real) sodas I found on Google. You can be the ones to determine whether or not you'd ever try any of them.
The label on the last one is real, but the flavor is fake. You'll have to learn the Jones way of doing things.
Chips are another favorite when it comes to bizarre flavors.
^ Those BLT chips are actually not too bad.
And, of course, the Canadian classic...
If you know of any strange flavors or you just happen to find some online, post them here. Pictures are always appreciated.
That they are, I can't argue with that. Then again, what are bubbles in a carbonated beverage but tiny floating balls that pop in your mouth?
Orbitz would have definitely sold more had they made their drink carbonated. That was their biggest marketing mistake. Floating balls or not, any clear, flavored liquid with flavors like that would not be able to compete with the fizzy drinks; it would have just tasted like a flat soda that had been sitting out all night. The floating balls were probably the best thing the drink had to offer.
I found another drink with floating things inside. It is made of basil seeds.
Now that does look too weird to drink. I'd find myself doing a lot of chewing if I were to drink that, and that's not something I look for in a drink.
Not to mention that the seeds look like fly larva.
this makes me want to vomit... fried spiders.
There is no doubt in anyone's mind that if these made it to American restaurant menus, they would be called "fryders".
I'd take a fryder with ketchup over just about anything at Taco Bell.
The next one is one of these strange products from Japan. It's called Diet Water, which I assume has all the taste and none of the calories of the water I usually drink.
It probably is WETTER then normal water, so you don't have to drink as much, and thus ingest less more then 0 calories in normal water.
RE: Water salad.
At least you can get a full serving of cabbage and stuff, do they have salad dressing water so you can get the real taste of real salad?
The only one of those products that remains a mystery to me is the gummy bacon. I've never tried any of the others, but I have some idea as to what they would probably taste like. I can't, however, for the life of me, imagine what gummy bacon would taste like.
Which is why I'm most eager to try it.

I'd much rather eat raw cabbage than drink a salad-flavored beverage for my full serving of cabbage. There are many foods that make great drink flavors. Cabbage is not one of them.

Well, they're not the same. Bubbles in a carbonated drink are made of CO2, which is a gas. However, those balls on Orbitz drinks are gelatinous, so they have a texture. I can't imagine having to burst one of those balls in my teeth. I'm not ready for a beverage that I can drink and chew at the same time. It's just too bizarre for me.

I don't understand. Do you mean Diet Water has more content in water? As far as I know, water provides no calories.

To be honest, they look a bit repulsive, but what can I say? I live in a country where boiled snails with different sauces are a typical dish. Here's a picture:
