I have no idea why that didn't censor. Even if it's true...

And to justify that, look, I drew the Sandman, because I am determined to draw a ton of fanart for that movie.

Fourth post in a row. Interesting.

Anyway, as promised, scanned versions.

Nothing changed from yesterday, since I still don't have a Kai-colour lying around.

So do you want me to break your posting chain? o wait...

Ok, for the sake of talking about your art, how do you usually start a drawing?

So, can't really critique the Sandman because I have no idea what he's supposed to look like, I will say though, shading/colouring would be nice. :D

The shifter/tiger-like-thing looks pretty cool, quite like the colours of it and the body seems to be drawn rather well.

Kai's in love? :D
With who?
Anyway, yeah,  quite like the simplicity to it and the feet are drawn really well.
I can never manage to get them perfect.
Kai's hair seems more red than usual but could just be the angle he's facing at.

All in all. :D
Love it, favourite one being the shifter thingy.

Movie was amazing, there will be art when I stop being a hyperactive brat for long enough.

Circles. One for the head, lines for eyes and mid-circle to get the angle, then usually drawing face an head, before overall sketching of body. It's not good way of arting.

He's the best. No colour or shading, though, pretty badly sketched and his roundness is hard to replicate.

Thanks. Felines are a bother, their bodies are very soft and undefined because of all the fur.
Shifters are undefined because they are shifters, though.

The staff. It makes him fly. He liked flying rather much, and once mastered a feather fall enchantment just for the sake of falling from the top of the castle without getting hurt.
I think he might have forgotten it, however.

I like to draw feet, they are less complex than hands.
As for the haircolour, I do lack a brownish red for the in betweens, so currently it's mainly lots and lots of red and trying to make it better with black.
Not doing so well, but eh.

MOVIEEEEEEEEEE!

I used to think basic shapes and gestural lines were a big waste of time, but I've come to appreciate just how much time they can actually save. I still have the habit of detailing an area before I have everything planned out, like you do, but I'm just very impatient.

The one movie I have been waiting for the last couple of months. The one where the Sandman features and which inspired Kai Frost.
Rise of the Guardians.
(Noteworthy, Kai would be a really bad, really good guardian. I don't even...)

Usually it helps me a lot, because otherwise the head never sits right on the shoulders, and the expression is helpful for the rest of the mood in the art, but, well, it does mean I sometimes get tired of the art before it has had a chance to show how awesome it will be.

Excuse me, my characters are being idiots.

"Kai..."
"Oh, come on. It might be our best chance right now!" Kai laughed and almost danced down the path, urged forward by some kind of overactive, childish energy.
"It's not going to end well, people... It's not like your dark ages villages, this here! People are much more con- Are you even liste..." Cen stopped and glared after Kai, already out of ear reach on the playground, where the sound of the playing kids were most likely drowning down everything. "Of course you are not listening. No one ever listens to reason!" Cen huffed and sat down heavily on the park bench.
