To answer your first question, me personally, I don't know for sure but my best guess would be a place within Canada (seeing from your profile page ;).
And to answer the second, yes I have and I think that it's excellent. The graphics are great and the new random spawning of zombies while you roam is brilliant though sometimes frightening when it catches you off guard!

About the glasses, it is in the box on the ground next to the cashier table.
After having her as your companion, you should equip her a Colt 1911 or a decent pistol, she will bring down a lot of low level zombie. Keep her alive until you have Hank to replace her.
