Just remembered that I actually also wanted to tell you about a hint for an upgrade to this game and maybe something for a second game...
Now, if you're entering a battle and then get the dialogue box at first, you have to skip that with use of the mouse... but how about being able to skip that dialogue with the use of the spacebar? That would make aiming your shot for the enemy ship a lot easier! ;)

Nice game you developed with "Pirates of the Stupid Seas" there! =)
I really enjoyed playing it! But now I crave for MOARRRR! AYE! =D
How about making another chapter in the (we can call it that then) series with a world map to sail? Or maybe even several chapters with each a separate sea to sail? =D
You could also have some new upgrades available, like being able to shoot flaming barrels that set the enemy ship on fire and thus slow it down? Plus... sails are good burning material! ;)
Or how about being able to shoot several smaller cannonballs (with half or a third of the force) instead of one large one maybe? ;)
Last suggestion in terms of weaponry is an entering hook you shoot at the ship sailing away from you and that attaches itself onto that boat.
It actually won't slow that boat down down, but you keep up with it more easily! Of course... when shooting a sail of that ship, you can start wheeling it in as it does slow down then! ;)
