Hiho,
there three + levels, s (small), m (midddle) & l (large).
If you equipped them your hero starts the match with a portion of their spell and summoning bars filled.
Your mana bars devided into 6 (orange or spell mana) and 8 (blue or summoning mana) pieces.
with +s you have filled something around 2/3 of one part, on each manabars
with +m you have something around 1 + 1/2 parts on each manabars
with +l you have roundabout 2 filled parts of you orange and around 2 + 1/2 at your blue
These boni stack, so you can start with both bars full if you equip enough of them.
Besides that some itmes grants boin on other stats, like gold or exp, they grant you more of it after a battle (equal if you win or loose), or, in case of +item, a higher dropchance.
