Here you go my friend; the two major poetry threads - i.e. the poetry and haiku contests - are stickied at the top in bold blue. Click on either one of those, check the theme and compose a poem that fits it well; you'll be noted arbitrarily by a benevolent judge on criterias such as vocabulary, originality and so on...
I've been judge of the Haiku thread myself for a good while, but I'm taking a little break from contests due to lack of time and motivation. Feel free to go submit whenever you like though; we always welcome enthusiatic new poets.
