   I think you mixed up WWI and WWII. :P Chaplin was frightened that he would be conscripted when they sang that in 1915 haha.

   I doubt Hitler's arm could reach that far out of Germany though.

   His comical sketches were pretty bombastic already, and I liked his take on Hitler. And the slapstick comedy.

   Have you heard the WWI parody song that the soldiers liked to sing? It scared the daylights out of Chaplin apparently.
