Welcome to Armor Games! All the games on our site are FREE to play, with no spyware/sign up/annoyances to access great games.

By now you have probably been surfing around the site and was curious about a specific feature. Well worry not! This is truly the ultimate guide to Armor Games, and will help you earn the maximum Armor Points and enjoy the site! These are also the official site rules, so even if you are familiar with the site it is imporant to brush up on some of the details!

User Accounts and Profile Pages- Top

If you would like to be a member of the site, signup and all the features are free. All you need to do is click the "Register" button at the top right portion of the website, and fill out your information! In order for the site to interact with you, you must sign in each time you return to the site.

If you forget your password, you can reset it by visiting the Password Reset page.

Once you are logged in, you can set all your control panel information by clicking the Control Panel link located where you initially logged in. You can set as little or as much information as you want about yourself, but remember not to give away any personal information! You can view your own user page as others see it by clicking your user name. Your profile is everything about you! Type in whatever you feel to tell the world, and give us some info.

You can add a game to your favorites area on your user page by clicking the Heart on any game page. The game will instantly be sent to your user page, where you have quick access to your favorite games. You can also delete games through Your Favorite Games page.

You can also add friends to your user page by finding their profile pages and clicking the "Add Friend" link. You can remove friends through your Friends page.
Playing / Voting on Games - Top

Each game can be voted on once by a user. You can anywhere from 1-10, by clicking in the bar beneith the average vote bar. Once you lock in your vote, you cannot change it. You can only vote if you are logged in as a user! Every vote on the game counts towards the total average of the game.

You can view the author of the game by clicking his or her name under the author profile. Here, you can find other games by the same author.

If a game has a walkthrough, a magic wand will appear in the top right corner of the author profile section. This walkthrough will open in a new window, so your game will not be interrupted. If you would like to help contribute a walkthrough for a game that does not have one, visit the Walkthrough Forum.
Leaving Comments and Feedback - Top

Each game has the option to leave comments. These comments are viewed by everyone, and are held to the commenting rules. Users also have the ability to Flag a comment, which helps notify moderators if users are abusing the site.

The most important part about commenting is giving good, constructive feedback to other users or the author. Saying "this game sux" is worthy of getting flagged.

Be careful! If too many of your comments get flagged or deleted, you may be banned from commenting on games altogether! The same goes for people who randomly flag everything.
Armor Points - Top

Armor Points (AP) are earned by interacting with different parts of the site. While we are always on the hunt for the perfect points formula, the website will reward you with the following AP rewards for these different actions:
Rate a Game:    
2 AP per Game
Comment on a Game:    
2 AP per Comment
Make a Post in the Forum:    
1 AP per Post
Submit a Game:    
20 AP per Title
Earn a Merit:    
25 AP per Merit

Your Armor Points total will appear in your User Profile, with a breakdown of your activity. The top ranked users appear on the Global Rank page.

If we find abuse, your posts or comments will be erased, along with your points earned! Be careful to post within the rules guidelines to retain your points.
Ranks - Top

As you earn points, you will rise through the Ranks. The ranks you achieve appear in your user profile, and will show your commitment and time to the Armor Games website!

Each Rank has a different point value, and here are the current baseline rank levels (3/4/2011):

    Silver Serf: 25 AP
    Gold Serf: 100 AP
    Wood Squire: 225 AP
    Silver Squire: 400 AP
    Gold Squire: 625 AP
    Wood Knight: 1200 AP
    Silver Knight: 1750 AP

    Wood Lord/Lady: 3000 AP

We may remove or add ranks or rank levels as the site evolves, so be wary that changes may happen!
Earning Merits - Top

On each userpage, there is an area that numbers how many merits you have earned. Merits are earned by writing constuctive,original, and thoughtful comments in the Games section. We reward those who take the time to think out a good comment, as it contributes a lot to the website and sets a good example for others. The post does not have to be a book in length, but should be interesting enough to grab our attention. For each merit you recieve, you will earn 25 AP and your post will stand out. Only moderators and administrators give out merits.

Do not bug the moderators or admins to give you merits. They will most likely be sad for the rest of the day if you do.
Armatars - Top

Armatars (shortened from Armor Avatars) are the small images that display next to your profile name at the top of the screen, as well across the entire website. Your armatar is a personal representation of you, so make sure you choose a character you can identify with! Armatars are selectable through the control panel. You can change your Armatar at any time, and more Armatars are on the way!

There are some Armatars that do not become available until you reach a certain amount of points. Once you reach the point value, you can wear your new Armatar with pride!
Community Forum - Top

Speak your mind! The community forums is a place to have lively conversation. Of course, there are guidelines to follow so that you can steer clear of losing points and posts.

The forums should be a place where people feel safe and secure about what they are saying. Flaming or general rudeness will result in banning from the forums altogether. We want everyone to enjoy the site and not feel like they are wading through spam and hatrid. Try to start conversations you know people would be interested in!

The Forums have their own tags for formatting text called BBCode, which can be referenced here.
Moderators and Administration - Top

While the website is monitored constantly by the staff, there are several moderators who work the site to make sure that users are not abusing the rules. The moderators are alerted to abuse by users hitting the flag icon next to posts and comments. You can view the moderators for the site on the Staff page.

The moderators also reserve the right to lock or delete threads in the forums that may be considered abusive. This is at their own interpretations of the rules. If you feel a moderator wrongly acted upon a user, contact an employee of the company. DO NOT create a whole post on it in the forums!

If you would like to become a moderator, you first need to show that you are responsible on the site; show a good posting record over a long period of time (minimum 6 months) with excellent manners, patience, and spelling and grammar, and maturity in tough situations, and you may be granted these exclusive rights! We usually hand pick moderators, but if you feel you have what it take, contact us on the Contact page... we are really, really picky though!
Submitting Your Own Games - Top

We would love to host your games! Just make sure that you are uploading a game that you worked on. We will review your game and make sure it is acceptable for Armor Games. This process may take up to 3-4 business days. You can submit via the Submit form. Games can be of all shapes and sizes, and we would love to see what you are doing!
Sponsorships and Licensing - Top

As you have probably noticed, Armor Games has a large libary of quality games made by developers sponsored by Armor Games. If you want to be sponsored by Armor Games, feel free to drop us an email via the Contact page. Make sure to make the subject concerning your sponsorship!
FAQ - Top

Q: The Games are Not Appearing for Me!
A: To run the games, you must have the Flash Player plugin. If you do not have this plugin, or a game is not appearing correctly, you should install the Flash Plugin, available here. If you Flash plugin is current and the games are still not working, make sure you do not have a firewall or spyware programming blocking the site. Also try using another browser such as Firefox, Safari, or IE. You can get additional help in the Support and Suggestions forum.

Q: Why do some games load faster than others?
A: Games are all different sizes, which means that it may take anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes to load a game. For example, a game like Fancy Pants Adventures World 2 may take several minutes while a smaller game like Retron will take only a few seconds. It also depends on the time of day and your connection.

Q: I found a bug in one of the games, what should I do?
A: Leave a comment in the author's profile page or in the game, clearly explaining what happened. Authors love reading user comments, and you'll earn points in the meantime!

Q: I've lost points! What happened to them?
A: There could be three possibilities as to why you have lost points. We have either dropped the Rank curve and your points haven't really dropped (just your rank), we have adjusted how many points you get for doing tasks on the website, or we could have removed some of your content due to abuse. Don't worry though! You have plenty of chances to collect more points.

Q: The website is not letting me post and is blocking me!
A: We have blocks on the site that will prevent users from posting multiple times in a short time frame. Just make sure you leave a bit of time between posts, and that you push the "submit" button only once! Or, if alerted to being banned, you have been banned for being too abusive on the site.

Q: I would like a specific game on the site that I played on another site, but it's not here. How can I request it?
A: Drop us an email on the Contact page. If we get enough requests, we'll try to get in contact the with the developer of the game.

Q: Did you ask permission to have all these games?
A: We do not steal from Flash developers, because we feel like they should get the proper credit and dignity to have their work on the sites they want. We will usually ask developers to upload their own content, or have arranged with other Flash websites to host their content.

Q: How do you make a Flash game?
A: We use the product Adobe Flash CS3, and so can you! They have a 30 day free trial on their website, and you can try making a game. Plenty of tutorials are scattered across the web, or you can get help in the programming forum.

Q: Can I download the Flash files for my own website?
A: Sure you can! All the game are available on the Free Website Games page. You can either host the content yourself or use the provided embed code to get a direct link to our content. If there is a game not on this page, please get in contact with us.

Q: What is the Digg icon and number? What about all those other little icons?
A: Digg is a content portal that allows users to choose what news or websites they want to promote to the front page. By Click the "Digg" button on any game page, your are either submitting or sending in your digg to help promote an Amor Games title to Digg. You can learn more about Digg on their help site. The other icons are for other social networking or bookmarking sites as well. Visit each one to find out more!
