Who would win?
Also would appreciate it if people putting in their opinions have played both Skyrim and Morrowind, because I'm sure some people have only played Skyrim and have no clue about the Nerevar or what he is capable of.
So people who have good TES knowledge is appreciated.

Who would win?? Who is better? Who had the better storyline??

Storyline
Nerevarine, no doubt:
- Already at the beginning you're released knowing you were 'born on a certain day to uncertain parents'
- You are the reincarnation of an ancient hero whose ample history you learn about during the game, with all the implications in the actual game. And still you can be whoever you want since you're only a reincarnation.
- You even get to epicly fight your ex
- You first have to learn about who you really are, which takes some time, and then have to win the support of most involved parties.

The Dragonborn? A bad joke...
- You have no piece of personal history whatsoever.
- Already early on you learn who you really are, and you acquire the full knowledge rather fast.
- You don't have to prove yourself to the people and the major involved parties except to the Greybeards. You get propelled to the level of Whiterun thane early on, etc.

Duel
Now this gets tricky here...

+ Dragonborn:
You have the power of The Voice. This is his only real trump, and a major one: you defeat the son of an Aedra, a god, using your shouts. That's not a small achievement.

- Dragonborn:
You were given the Voice like a baby gets his milk. Of course you have to acquire your own skills and so on to prevail, but the voice is your only major weapon.

+ Nerevarine:
As Nerevarine you had to rise up politically as well as militarily. The challenges have made you tough, after all you've beaten three demi-gods and a Daedra (Dagoth Ur, Almalexia and Vivec, and Hircine of course); all this with your own force, no Voice included. You're a natural champion. With some special gear of course: Wraithguard, Keening, Sunder, Trueflame, all very powerful artifacts.

- Nerevarine:
You have no really useful inborn trump you could use in combat; the only thing you have is being able to wear the Moon-and-Star, Nerevars ring.

Conclusion:
I think the outcome of a duel will be unpredictable. Both the Dragonborn and the Nerevarine are strong champions, one has dragonblood and the voice, the other is a reincarnated ancient hero and a Daedras protege. It all depends, if Azura still watches over her hero, then Nerevarine will win, otherwise the Voice might get the upper hand.

My favourite
Honestly I prefer the Nerevarine, for having much more backstory, having to fight up the ladder from the mud till the highest point, while the Dragonborn is some kind of wonder child that comes all veni-vidi-vici-style. At least that's my impression.

The nevervarine is certainly more in depth than dragonborn
the only thing is remember the nerevar is immortal? due to corpus disease and other ones but he had no ill effects of the illness.
He also has that sword (forgive me idr the name xD) which is extremely powerful. And we all know his capabilities in magick extremely surpasses those of the dragonborn and in fact the nerevar is still alive even during the events of skyrim. He is just in another continent .
Honestly I think he has been the best character they have made yet, the nerevar had no support or anything there weren't jarls kissing his butt or old men with beards shouting advice at him. It was him as a outlander in a very harsh land where outlanders are treated bad and being a outlander posing as the nerevar was even worse.
And he also killed two gods

Well personally I like the idea of the Dovahkiin more.
A man born with the soul of a dragon.
But they both are just great and I don't think a fight would be fair.
But if they could use the same weapons/armor and magic I think the Dovahkiin would win just because of his ability to shout. If he does that it doesn't matter because he could do many things with his voice. Hell, he could even summon a dragon for his aid. So as I said a fight wouldn't be fair.
I like the character of Nerevarine more because as u said he has more background.

But wouldn't it be nice to put the Champion of Cyrodill in the fight.
He is my favorite definitely.
He is a man who ascended from mortality to become the Deadric god of Madness, restored the Knight if the Nine, helped Martin defeat a Deadric lord and all because he was in prison at the right time at the right place.

the nerevarine that uses alchemy beats the dagonborn any time.
used well he is then basicly a god. (all legal whitout mods)

and the dragonborn isn't realy that special. his job is upposed to be killing dragons. but a few town gourds can kill them also so....

and let's not start on the waaaaayyyy better and longer story in morrowind that was made very well.

Nerevarin can have 100% immune to physical(Sanctuary 100 points) and magic damage(Reflect 100pts). And can fly. He can piss on dragonborn standing in front of him and wouldn't get any retribution, even if dragonborn will hit him until death from old age.
Not to mention that dragonborn is an idiot without IQ stat at all.

the nerevarin can hit the dragonborn whit so much strength (whit hand2hand) that he will be knocked out for the next 50 year. but not dead, nooo... he just wont have the stamina to get up on his feet anymore. =P

The Nerevarine will use 100 strength, acrobatics and archery and jump across akivir (or wherever he is now) and throw a throwing star and that nord pig and theres the end of skyrim.
