The dot near your armatar used to indicate activity. Green would mean active and red inactive. However, the function was disabled because it caused lag. For some reason, the admins decided to keep a red dot next to your armatar. The dot is meaningless, but newcomers will still make threads about it because they don't know any better.

The red dot was once quoted by a mod, "A guardian angel for all of AG"

And for AG3, they are making a working activity notifier.
