I know, right? My 3DS doesn't seem to last anywhere close to what my DS could, even when I'm playing DS games.
Still, being able to charge the thing without buying batteries all the time is an evolution from the old GameBoys.

No doubt about that. But they just stuck the battery slots into their wireless controllers. ;P

They keep adding more and more stuff that consumes the battery life. Last time I checked my PSP could last four-five hours without being charged. I think that's good enough considering how many things it can do.

It's just more than a little weird that my laptop has longer battery life than my PSP, for instance (I have an ancient PSP-1000. Pity me.)

Isn't the main point of a handheld system that it's portable? You'd think they'd put priority into making the battery last long. Well, other than making good games, but that's kinda obvious.

It's a handheld only in that you hold it in your hands. It's still tethered to the console. Just because it has a screen doesn't make it any less of a controller, by that logic you might as well call the Wii a handheld.

it also says u can play with the tv off so a wiiU is still both a console and a hand held

You forgot the part where the console itself has to be running for that to work. And let's not forget that the second screen only works up to a certain distance.

The Wii U has a handheld controller. But it is not a handheld console.

I think it depends on the game. Personally, if its a great story I dont care. However, some games are great on both, like Persona 3.
