Can anyone recommend any books to get? I've been looking and some are quite old. For example, I saw this book for CS3, but the latest one is CS5...I don't have CS3. I don't have CS5 either, that was just an example.

Anyways. Something easy. Game Maker, Python, something like that. Maybe even Java, but not C++.

latest one is CS6

Also, the programming language in all of them in the same ActionScript 3.0, the only differences are that there's been some things added in newer versions, but if you're just learning now, you won't need to know at all.

So go ahead and use the CS3 ones. They're not really out of date

Okay. Now a question for my Java book. The book I have uses Java 5.0.

But will it still be okay to use current versions of Java, or should I try to find the old versions?

So my book on Java uses Java 5.0...

Would it be okay if I just used the current Java instead? Would there be much of a difference?

My Java Book is using 5.0, the latest is 7.0....

So would it be okay to use that book still? Would it be much of a difference?
