Looking at the games section of the forums, at least 75% of the topics are "(this) or (that)?". Implementing polling capabilities would both streamline all of these topics as well as allow members to view the opinions of others... so maybe that's something to think about.

As well, in the games section, there are HUGE amounts of repeat topics that, in my opinion, get kind of annoying to see. Adding opic merging and/or forum moderation features may reduce the amount these appear. You know, if you want to add some more structure to the forums.

I have also suggested polling along with a number of forum updates. I am sure they will be soon to come.

One simple thing that would cut on the repetition of topics would be a forum search. People just aren't going to click through pages of forums to find something.

We already have atleast one mod(Carlie), but due to time zones she can`t handle every topic.Altho I must agree that is very annoying that people make a load of topics without checking if they exists. For the record having your post count being very close to your topic creation count is not something to be proud of.

heheheh, I think another problem is that so many people post topics that don't make any sense, or are just asking questions, taking the 'How do I get the picture beside my name' types of forums, new people should really stop doing that. And enough with the 360/Wii/PS3 topics, there's like a million of them all talking about the same thing honestly now, we need new tools and mods to keep track of this, it's getting very annoying imo XD

More mods are definitely in line.

Raptor new people can make those threads that what the whole point of a support forum is.And yea the 360/wii/PS3 topics are getting out of control, but the only way a moderator can track them (except finding them himself)is users reporting them so just report the first post of those topics.

We are definitely working on the whole topic control thing. The games forum has gone from about 15 pages down to 9! And most of what was removed were repeat topics.

Yea that led to another pronlem Carlie, now there are a couple of pages on the forum that are blank. Also I think that instead of deleting all the topics maybe lock them and give a final post about how that topic was bad and making more of the same kind is also bad.

Many of the topics were ones that were weeks old with 0 replies as well.

And the blank page thing has actually been happening for a while now. It is on the list of things to do right now.

Surely the staff have all these things on their to do list. It's just going to take some time to see it happen.

Ironically, with polling, I could have turned this topic into a poll for "Which forum feature would you like to see implemented in the near future".
