A few minutes ago, my computer turned itself off for no reason. This occurred as I was trying to make a post. I managed to restart it and make the post after the restart, but why would my computer turn itself off like that?

were you using a laptop? because when this happened to me, twice so far, i just assumed it was the battery.

If you're using a laptop it could be because of the battery. It could've also been from not restarting for updates, so it forces a shutdown.

Pish-posh, I'm sure it was nothing. My Xbox tends to do this after having it on a good 6 hours. I assume it's a minor programming error.

Might have been windows update. Sometimes if you delay the update installation long enough, it will restart without even telling you. (I'm assuming you're using Windows?)

The battery was not a problem, and there was no update notification.

I assume it's a minor programming error.


That's probably what it was.
