Hey guys, I need some help...

I have 2 PS3s currently... One(in my room) is used to play video games... cod etc ... the other one (in the living room ) is used for tv purposes... netflix and hulu....

The ps3 in my room is hooked up to an ethernet cable that goes STRAIGHT to the router... The other one is hooked up to a wireless router, which then goes to the main one.... \\

When my ps3 is the only one on i have a perfect 4/3 bar... but when my mom uses her mac or the ps3 in the living room is on... I have a 2/1 bar... and it sucks...

What i want to know is, how can i give myself a 3/4 bar again? Before, without the other ps3 i had a perfect bar connection even if my mom was using her mac... help?

I'd suggest either hooking the one up in your room through the wireless router or just simply playing on the one in the living room. Because the ps3 in your room is away from the main focal point of the connection in your house, when your mom is on the computer, it has to account for connections in both such areas, thus slowing it down.

As far as the last paragraph, that doesn't make much sense to me, unless you changed routers. Here's a simple solution though: Sell your other ps3, and use just one for both movies and games. It'd be more logical considering they both do the exact same thing, and you'd gain some cash in the process.

Ive had the same problem for ages and somebody told me when you search for a match keep your eye on the ping you want it to be as low as possible so see if that helps at all

The one in the living room we just bought a couple months ago because of the fact that direct tv is too expensive.... My headset takes up too much room... It'd be just all messed up... I've heard something about you being able to change settings on your router to make some things have a better connection???

In the last paragraph I was saying before the other ps3 was hear i didn't lag or anything. Should I just try to hook it up to the wireless one? Or do you think that wouldn't change anything?

It's worth a try bud. From past experiences, wireless connection has always worked better and more efficiently for me. That's not to say it will for you. So don't quote me on that.

But it seems like by what you're telling me, these problems didn't occur until you got the other ps3. Which confuses me because, unless you leave it on, I can't figure out why it would effect the connection through your room.

You could try this: Move your games and headset and whatever else you have into the ps3 in the living room and just play there, and then watch movies in your room. Since the connection is more vital in playing games, that would seem to help.

IF at all possible, you could move the main router to your room, which would infact give you a lot better connection.

And if all else fails, you have google. You're better off asking on there rather than on this site.

Okay thanks man... And I'm not sure how my mom would like being in my bedroom watching tv haha I suppose I'll switch em around.
