You are very limited to what you can do on Stencyl. It's a decent program for beginners, but if you're serious about making flash games then you'll want to get the more popular and powerful ones. This thread explains it well. It gives you links to several programs and explains them.

The keyword was decent. If your goal here is to submit a game to ArmorGames, you'll have to learn how to use the other programs. But if you just want to dabble in game making, Stencyl will work. It basically hands you everything you need to make a game, with very little effort on your end.
