It's strictly a profile glitch. The AP has always updated at a different rate in the database than on the profiles, but at the moment the profiles are glitched so that AP only updates when it feels like it, or when you do what Vinny said to do.
It only takes about a day at the most to update, and Boppins said it was on his list of things to fix, so it's nothing to worry about.
