I saw this problem listed in a very old topic, but I checked back the last few pages, and didn't see anything about it (if I missed something, please forgive me and direct me to it). The Website link on my profile doesn't bring up my URL...I also notice that there doesn't seem to be one on anybody's profiles. Does it simply not work?
Also, the "About" section says to have no HTML (on your control panel), but I saw a reasonably recent discussion in which it seemed to be permissible, but I wanted to check and make sure before I did it.
What is it you mean with the HTML/URL problem exactly? =/
You post a URL word link and it doesn't open in the same window when clicked? -If this is the case, either the BBcode you used is flawd or your url is flawd.
If it's a problem with HTML coding, I have to refer you to the same discussion you mentioned yourself in your OP as I don't know anything about that and there are several other users that can help you with that...
As for the question with the HTML being allowed yes or no... it is allowed to be used on ones profile to a certain extend. Rules and guidelines for what you may or/and may not use is also mentioned by Freakenstein (moderator) in the very thread mentioned before!
I guess I wasn't clear - my apologies. :-) What I mean is that the URL doesn't come up at all. I have a URL in the Website slot on my control panel, but if I go to my profile, the link isn't there at all. I assume it should be under my name, like the PSN, etc. stuff, but nothing's there.
That feature you descibe has actually been disabled at the moment. They took it down a year ago along with the status, age and ranking, probably because of the trouble they had with it.
It will probably return when the new AG3 website is launched, but for now it remains locked/disabled.
