Only one thing to say here fries... watch the video, listen to it and become infected like the rest of us! (O.o)
I was thinking the same thing when I saw her in the subway in the original video... I didn't know she could sing too!
Apparently she can and she is a music artist working for herself, but she was asked to feature in this video by PSY. And I'm really glad he asked her! *drools* =)
This song is unbelievable catchy. Add in a crazy music video and a ridiculous dance to it and you get the craze of pop culture.
Catchy it sure is! I watched the video Monday evening and ended up saying "Wopa Gangnam Style" for the rest of the evening, much to the disgust of my GF... didn't have to sleep on the couch though! LOL
it was meant to refer to the lifestyle of people in the Gangnam district of Korea.
Oh? I didn't know that! Guess I have missed that post explaining this... hmmm Are they so crazy and decadent in that particular Korean district then?! =0
I will start to study Korean just to understand what the song says
I don't think you want to know Pedro97... but if you do: Google Translate!
Sorry about the double post, but I was curious myself about what PSY was singing, so I checked for the lyrics myself! For those that don't want to google it themselves, here they are! =D
########################################################## English translated lyrics : ##########################################################
Oppa is Gangnam style Gangnam style
A girl who is warm and humanle during the day A classy girl who know how to enjoy the freedom of a cup of coffee A girl whose heart gets hotter when night comes A girl with that kind of twist
Iâm a guy A guy who is as warm as you during the day A guy who one-shots his coffee before it even cools down A guy whose heart bursts when night comes That kind of guy
Beautiful, loveable Yes you, hey, yes you, hey Beautiful, loveable Yes you, hey, yes you, hey Now letâs go until the end
Oppa is Gangnam style, Gangnam style Oppa is Gangnam style, Gangnam style Oppa is Gangnam style
Eh- Sexy Lady, Oppa is Gangnam style Eh- Sexy Lady oh oh oh oh
A girl who looks quiet but plays when she plays A girl who puts her hair down when the right time comes A girl who covers herself but is more sexy than a girl who bares it all A sensable girl like that
Iâm a guy A guy who seems calm but plays when he plays A guy who goes completely crazy when the right time comes A guy who has bulging ideas rather than muscles That kind of guy
Beautiful, loveable Yes you, hey, yes you, hey Beautiful, loveable Yes you, hey, yes you, hey Now letâs go until the end
Oppa is Gangnam style, Gangnam style Oppa is Gangnam style, Gangnam style Oppa is Gangnam style
Eh- Sexy Lady, Oppa is Gangnam style Eh- Sexy Lady oh oh oh oh
On top of the running man is the flying man, baby baby Iâm a man who knows a thing or two On top of the running man is the flying man, baby baby Iâm a man who knows a thing or two
You know what Iâm saying Oppa is Gangnam style
Eh- Sexy Lady, Oppa is Gangnam style Eh- Sexy Lady oh oh oh oh
LOL This is a typical example of a song that shouldn't be translated as it makes no sense when it is! (O.o)
Silly DayCee! It is a love song! (which really makes the video not fit with the song...). He is using parallelism when comparing her with him and how they are the perfect match for each other
I don't think you want to know Pedro97... but if you do: Google Translate!
I was just joking. And after seeing the translation, it's better to stay in Korean, that makes no sense.

If it's a love song he should have made a better video. But still, the dance is awesome

Does anyone here realize the "Gangnam Style" is actually a satire on the exuberance of rich people's lives in Korea? It's social commentary.
To be honest I barely know anything about it as well, it's just I overheard someone saying it at school which led me to wikipedia the song.
"Gangnam Style" is a Korean neologism that refers to a lifestyle associated with the Gangnam district of Seoul, where people are trendy, hip and exude a certain supposed "class".

Really pang?! (O.o) I have to say... ahmmm... *frowns* No, really?!?! (O.O) You clearly MUST be joking here... LOL

Exactly my thought! It has a bit of mystery when you hear a song that is sung in a language you don't understand, so it stays fresh, funny and above all... mysterious! =P
But still, the dance is awesome
*hops around* What?! Sorry... can't hear you! *hops around* Too busy dancing the happy pony! *hops some more* Sorry! Laterrr!! *w-hop-a-gangnam style* Heeeyyyy...
the way the guy says "Gangnam Style" is stuck in my head.
The translation states that he actually says something different to 'Gangnam Style', but I wouldn't know for sure unless a Korean person would tell me otherwise... And yes, it gets stuck in your head like a parasite! And when you finally get ridd of it, you hear it on the radio again and... you start allover! Whopa! (@.@)

As you had already posted soccerdude2 , but I guess I missed that post in the beginning!
And I too wiki'd 'Gangnam Style' to be honest. Curiousity got the better of me! =P
