Yes, the world's favorite search engine turns 14 today! The homepage is celebrating with a delicious chocolate cake!

So, what has Google done for you in its lifetime and how long have you been using it?

I been using it for as long as I have been using the internet.

Google is usually the best way to find something and is the host of youtube, I now use gmail for my email as well.

The cake is gone, but luckily I managed to find a picture of it that includes what it looked like before and after the animation.

Even though they didn't create the first search engine, this **** is more or less fundamental to the internet. I can't imagine the internet without Google, and I used to be a slave to Yahoo! search (I have no idea what the **** I was thinking as a kid).

In other news, according to Alexa, Facebook now ranks above Google in traffic on a global scale. **** *****.

I don't know about gmail (but I'd hope it isn't older than Googe!)...but Youtube is only about 6 years old

YouTube was launched in 2005 and was bought by Google in 2006... but I don't think Google linked to it on their homepage until sometime within the last year, which is when I learned that the two companies were connected.

That's about all I know, though... I'm afraid I'll never understand the stock world!
