I love Christian rock! Especially bands such as Demon Hunter, Switchfoot, Skillet, etc. If you actually listen to the lyrics, they don't straight out say, "Praise Jesus!" Most of the messages are in the deep meaning. Actually, there are alot of metal bands that are Christian such as As I Lay Dying.
Yah there are a couple good christian rock groups. I would say most are the worst of the genre...but umm some of its good. Switchfoot for soft rock who is my fav. band! (very strange for me, i know) As I lay dying and The DEvil Wears Prada are great metalcore bands. And my mind is blank from there...but i like some of it, a lot of times , most of the time, it sucks. As for being actually rock. Yes, yes it is, just because they don't swear and do drugs doesn't make it non-rock. There are plenty of non-christian straight edge bands that are legitimate rock bands. (BTBAM is amazing!)
Its like all other music. Its hard to rate the entire genre. I'm not a religious person so the fact its christian rock doesnt really impact me. I like some, I don't like some.
