I think, and I know a lot of people will agree, is that the search bar isn't exellently made. For example, if I were to search 'Exit Path', it would come up with both versions of the game and ANY OTHER related games, in alphabetical order. Sometime you have to search through pages and pages to find the ame that you want. I suggest developing it in a different manner, so that it puts keywords together and so it should come up with the exact game you searched for, and any other related games in an order of how they are related.

When you use the current search bar, you have to make sure you use a specific choice of words to find your game. The example you gave for "Exit Path" will come up with both Exit Path games as well as the games that have been tagged with 'exit' or have exit inside their name.
As for the forums, for the moment you can use the google advanced search to find specific topics/threads on the ArmorGames forums, but a new search bar/option is being developed right now. It has been tested in the AG3 Beta testing and will be featured on ArmorGames when the new website launches or if they decide to implement it on the current AG2 website. That's up to the AG staff.
I will help test stuff if you want- I'm decent, and I will do anything you want me to. I have had experience testing, and it is free. I have nothing to do at the current moment and I can test anything.
The testing fase of the new AG3 website is already over PigOfSparta... they closed the Beta testing website on August 31, 2012 and are currently working on implementing some features and changes on the current website...
If you want to keep an eye out for testing, you can always check the ArmorBlog for news about the search for Beta testers for upcoming games that are still being developed!
