why exactly does armorgames have this? it seems a bit odd that you would rank up on the site, i mean you don't actually get anything out of it in return to just a label on your account... This just seems so pointless to have.
There isn't much of a point to it, mostly to show contribution to the site, of course some people spam it. Your experience on AG will be a lot better if you ignore AG points altogether.
It keeps people interested in remaining active in other parts of the site besides just games. Even though it does encourage spam to an extent, it also encourages people to talk to each other and not just sit there in an antisocial manner completely cut off from the outside world.

While at the same time sitting in front of a computer in a dark room all by yourself, doing your best to avoid all human contact. Or is that just me? >.>
Let's face it... there's more than enough people who like to gather achievements and points to obtain a certain rank and recognition on this website or any other that has the same features! I mean a website like 'Kong' for example...
Next to that, there's always people who like to do this, with it's best example being all the games that have tons of achievements and are always very popular! =)
