People go to a planet which should have "aliens". The planet was a secret facility where they created some kind of monster/virus Everything went bad and everyone died. They found a real human-like "alien". Everything went bad and they crash the ship that's trying to escape.

I honestly thought the movie would be better but I didn't think is was a good movie. It was avarege but they could have done more with it.
It was a prequel to Alien and it was supposed to wrap up some of the mysteries in the Alien films. That's possibly why you didn't understand it too much?

Are you serious? I couldn't find any resemblance to the. alien from Alien.
The "creator" aliens reminded me of what I could look like if I worked out more. Throughout the entire movie, that's mainly what I was thinking about. I didn't care much for any of the main characters.

The protagonist was boring, but I found the captain to be very entertaining, and David had a few good lines here and there. I wish Dr Shaw had died and everyone else had survived rather than the other way around.

And what mysteries would that be?
An argument I hear all the time for why Prometheus is a prequel to alien is that it explains where the Aliens came from...then I tell those people to watch Aliens vs. Predators
