Well, I am not a slipknot fan, it isn't my type of music. Since you are an avid fan, point me in the right direction (song wise, that is).

Well, if you mean that i should recommend songs i would say: Vermillion, Vermillion pt.2 (soft) Duality, Before i Forget, Wait and Bleed, Pulse of the Maggots (hard) and (sic), disasterpiece and People=Shit (harder)

Cool that you tried.. But everyone has their own flavour. I never pick on anyones taste, but when people say stuff like "slipknot is fake metal omgrofl!1" i kinda get pissed off. Dunno why people have to say that? Does it make themselves feel better? :P

It doesn't make us feel better. It's just the truth. And if you like the band, why the f*** do you care about the genre? I don't like Slipknot, but I respect who does.

Go on YouTube, you'll find good videos explaining why people call bands like Slipknot, Korn or Avenged Sevenfold "fake metal".

Also, i think its funny how they try to make their songs so br00tal when the music they play isnt real metal if you want 2 no some good bands msg me. Oh, and to the person who said they are gods of metal, shame on you. Shame on you.

JMV: I don´t care about the genre, I react to people saying that Slipknot is fake metal. Why? Because they add in some extra stuff? Like a dj and sometimes rap vocals? I dont get it, they still use guitar and drums as a main sound.

Slipknotist listen to some metal for a few months, then listen to slipknot again. It sounds simple and watered down, and like it would be played on MTV. Yes they have many fans, but again, thats because its easy to digest and has catchy rythyms rather than skillful and creative riffs. Mallcore is like a little kid trying to impress his older brother and failing. failing hard.
