Well, i'm gonna go with vocalist...

Singer:Freddy Mercury(Queen) or Geddy Lee(Rush)
Growling Vocalist: Mikael Akerfeldt(Opeth) or Tommie Rodgers(BTBAM)

The first two because those two bands were a couple of my first real rock bands that i listened too.
The second two because Akerfeldt's death metal growl is incredibly evil and just astounding. And Tommie's vocalizing expands over a lot of types...i can't even describe half of them. This epitomizes his talent.(guy on left)

Shame he had to die soo soon. (R.I.P.) I saw them live a couple years ago with the singer of bad company...it just wasn't the same.

Thom Yorke (Radiohead) is one my favorite vocalists for his beautiful range, and Glenn Danzig (Misfits) is my other favorite because of his theatrical baritone.

I really like Aerosmith. But that is how I like it.

I guess singing-wise, I'd go with Claudio Sanchez of Coheed and Cambria. He may have that high voice, but I really like it.

Scream-wide, I would have to choose Stu Block of Into Eternity. I love he has a great growl, scream, and he sings beautifully.

There is no competing with Freddy Mercury. He was the most talented rock lead singer ever to live. And, he played for one of the best bands to exist too (Queen)
