Can anyone tell me what the point of the ring is. I am at the second monster in the final portal and I still can't find the purpose of the ring you get from that guy.

i think it will be pretty simple for you to find out now
Go stand at the window where the Moon is shining in and press spacebar twice, I think. It gives you extra skill points.
